Child abuse refers to the maltreatment, whether habitual or not, of the child. Example cases involving Child Abuse: A child is physically abused (including sexual abuse), neglected, and emotionally maltreated. This includes prostitution in which a child, whether female or male, who for money or profit is being used by any illegal group, indulges any sexual intercourse or lascivious conduct. A child is unreasonably deprived of his basic needs for survival, like food and shelter. A child has the right to survive. Such circumstances which threaten the survival of children include, but are not limited to certain things or limitations. in such cases, the accused have to be given a certain penalty depending on the terms and circumstances the illegal act is under. My Reaction: We cannot deny that child abuse is a reality. Children are being treated violently and cruelly. It is right that there is a law in our constitution that prohibits this act. Children are still young and free to explore the world, let us not be a concrete barrier that blocks them from doing so. Human trafficking is a crime against humanity. Example cases involving human trafficking: In 2003, Makati Mayor Jejomar C. Binay ordered a crackdown against prostitution. 33 women were rescued from a sex trafficking operation in Makati City by a team of National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents. The Chief of the Southern Police District deployed policemen in schools in Makati City after the abductions of children by those involved in the sex trade industry. The Philippine Information Agency reports documented cases of children as young as 10 years old forced into prostitution in Davao. Davao provinces, along with the Caraga region, have become the favorites of child traffickers posing as

tourists. Davao is one of the top five areas for child prostitution and sex tourism. The Tambayan Center for Abused Street Girls reports more than 1,000 teenage girls have turned to prostitution in Davao City, charging as little as 50 cents. My Reaction: Men, women and even children are involved in human trafficking. The lack of education and money, serves as a major reason why men women and children penetrate in this kind of work. The government must be very cautious and aware of any activity involving human trafficking. It sure has to stop.
