Fort Irwin Thrift Store

Clerk II Position
The Clerk /Cashier assists the Manager with the daily operation of the store to include reception of donations and management of inventory, supervision and training of volunteers, and responsibility for cash drawers and customer transactions while the store is open. The Clerk/Cashier must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and will report directly to the FICA Thrift Store Manager. Description of Duties
Receive donations from the drop box, sort and organize merchandise and prepare it for sale. Price merchandise and control inventory as directed by the Manager. Be responsible for cash in the register, complete sales transactions, and reconcile drawer at the close of business. Assist the FICA Thrift Store Manager with the supervision, recruitment, and training of volunteers Assist with maintaining the FICA Thrift store buildings and grounds. Ensure the store is clean and orderly. Interface with other employees, volunteers and customers in a positive, proactive way. Be available to open and close the store if required. Comply with the FICA Thrift Store Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and all Fort Irwin rules and procedures. Be punctual for designated work hours. Log hours worked. Employee may, but is not required, to volunteer time in addition to paid hours. Log any volunteer hours in the volunteer log (for store credits) and into the Volunteer Management Information System (VMIS) for volunteer credit.

Hours and Compensation Position is part time. Hours and compensation will be as specified in employment contract . Job Requirement High School Diploma Member of MCSC (Military Civilian and Spouses Club) Job announcement will be open until October 1, 2012. MECHANICS AND OILER/LUBERS: Mechanic Requirements: experience working with Blades, Loaders (D9, D10, Scrapers, Excavators and 777 Haul Trucks, as well as other heavy equipment machinery. Accurately diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical problems on heavy equipment. OSHA 10 card required and MSHA certification preferred. Training may be provided for MSHA Certification. Lube/Oiler Requirements: Familiarity with heavy construction equipment and the ability to use hand tools to replace parts and perform small repairs. CDL License and HAZMAT Certification also required. LABORER: Immediate opening for a General Laborer. Performs construction maintenance, grounds and housekeeping tasks necessary to maintain work sites, buildings, grounds and equipment. Handle and distribute construction materials (e.g., load and unload vehicles with supplies, equipment and construction materials; move tools, equipment and construction materials to and from work areas. Opportunities for travel and/or overtime exist so open availability is a must. EQUIPMENT OPERATOR: Immediate openings for Equipment Operators with basic knowledge on G57 Scraper, front end loaders, dozers, heavy haul trucks, water pulls, excavators and finish blade. Requirements: Must have 3 years operating experience and possess OSHA 10 card. Ability to provide transportation, work overtime and weekends, as well as work out of town assignments required. Prior MSHA training is a plus.
