Heres whats happening in your Student Government Association...

My name is Heather Warfield, and I serve as the Director of Events on SGA. Together with Lydia Braceful and Kristin Morgan, we form Catalyst, your student activities committee. Remember Movie on the Lawn? Rock, Hop, & Roll? Those are just a preview of the awesome Catalyst events to come. As a part of the Student Government Association, we are here to serve you. If you have the best idea ever for an event (or even if its not the best idea ever, but its still pretty good), send me an email about it. If you want to tell us how you think we can improve an event, please dont hesitate. If you see us having a crazy good time at events and think, Hey, that looks like fun. I kind of want to volunteer with those cool kids!, stop by the SGA office anytime and well sign you up! Events are designed to build community on campus, get people out of their dorm rooms, and to make your college experience as full of fun memories as possible. The best way for these things to happen is for you to come to events! There is at least one event every single weekend of the school year. I promise. So, if you find yourself thinking, I wonder what Im going to do this weekend? That girl from SGA said there would be an event every single weekend. Well, I can tell you... THIS FRIDAY, September 21, Lowell Hall is hosting a Luau! It includes a limbo contest, karaoke, and yummy snacks, so make sure to come to the lawn between Lowell and Gainey at 8 pm on Friday. THIS SATURDAY, September 22, is Rock and Bowl! Starting at 11 pm at Airport Lanes, the entire bowling alley is reserved for SAU students. A $5 ticket can be purchased on Thursday and Friday outside of the DC or at the door on Saturday night, and it gets you two games of bowling and pizza. The luau and bowling are two Spring Arbor classics, so be sure to come on out for a good time this weekend! If in the future you find yourself thinking, I know there must be an event this weekend, but I just cant seem to remember what it is!, there are multiple ways to find out. This newsletter will be printed every other week and handed out at chapel and includes all of the events happening on campus. If you need another copy, stop by the SGA office. You can also look at the posters around campus on the bulletin boards or electronic screens. You can also like Catalyst and SGA on Facebook or follow us on Twitter at @springarborSGA to keep up-to-date with whats happening on campus. Im looking forward to seeing all of your smiling faces at events to come! Heather Warfield (heather.warfield@arbor.edu)
