INTRODUCTION
A web search engine is an internet application designed to help find information on the World Wide Web. The search engine allows one to ask for content meeting specific criteria. Search engines have the ability to provide refined or more precise results on any subject. Being able to search more precisely allows you to cut down on the amount of information generated by your search. In this study, we investigate the effects web search engine on students search behaviour and search effectiveness.

IMPORTANCE OF STUDY
1. We determine to find the Search strategies used by the students, and their effectiveness in the search. 2. We sought to determine the dependency of students on the web search engines in todays era. 3. We seek to acquire the views and perceptions of students towards search engines 4. We require studying the students use of the search 5. We investigate the effects of various search engines on students search behaviour and search effectiveness. 6. We seek to consider various purposes behind academic uses of search engines and searchers perception and satisfaction levels with the result.

SCOPE OF STUDY
1. Respondents have been selected from 5 states Punjab, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Kerala. 2. The respondents are the students of various fields such as IT, Finance, HR, Research, etc. 3. The respondents have the age of 18 and above.

OBJECTIVES OF STUDY
1. To study the current & latest Search Engines. 2. Comparison between various search engines. 3. To know the popularity and awareness of various Search Engines. 4. To know the various purposes for which The Search Engines is used. 5. To study the impacts of Search Engines on student.

HYPOTHESIS OF STUDY
1. Google is the most popular Search Engine as compared to other Search Engines. 2. Youth uses Search Engines for most of its Routine activities. 3. Students are highly dependent upon search engines. 4. Creativity levels of students have decreased. 5. Search engine helps students increase their subject and general knowledge.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Quota sampling

LIMITATION OF STUDY
1. We are considering just 5 States for the research. 2. Respondents are only students. The general public is not taken into consideration for being respondents.
