Partnering Human Resources Nelson Fixed Term Contract for 3 years 34k - 38k dependant on experience

As a credible member of the Human Resources Team you will: Ensure managers and employees of the business understand the company policies and procedures, applying them fairly and consistently across the organisation Demonstrate professional behaviours, good team work and respect for employee confidentiality at all times working in accordance with DCWW values. As HR Business Partner you will: Provide proactive generalist HR advice and guidance to Executives and the Leadership Team and colleagues at all levels within DCWW to facilitate Business Plan delivery.

Principal Accountabilities To establish and develop a dialogue and relationship with senior management to understand the key performance issues and associated people requirements to meet both current and future organisational challenges. To identify and support the HR function to successfully deliver credible, customer focused, cost-effective and innovative solutions using a range of techniques. In collaboration with HR colleagues develop an HR strategy and innovative, timely and cost effective best practice HR solutions to enable the organisation to meet its objectives. Seek to continuously improve the quality and value of the HR service provided to the organisation.

To measure the success of HR solutions and services in contributing to the function/DCWWs effectiveness and efficiency and attainment of overall objectives. To provide responsive, high quality specialist advice supporting managers on all aspects of the human resources function with an emphasis on taking shared responsibility and ownership for decision-making involving people issues. Coaching/advising managers in the implementation of robust recruitment and selection, performance management and employee relations processes to facilitate shared responsibility for the management of people and ensuring that HR matters are effectively dealt with. Developing, managing and implementing a range of HR policies, initiatives, work programmes and specific projects within agreed timescales and budgets to support the delivery of DCWW objectives. To lead the HR aspects of organisation restructuring initiatives to effect significant operational expenditure (OPEX) reduction. In particular: o Ensure that proposed organisation re-designs submitted by managers are fit for purpose, correctly identify the impact on individuals, define objective and fair selection processes, assess and facilitate redeployment opportunities where possible and implement voluntary redundancy where appropriate. Consult and work closely with the Trade Unions and internal communications team to ensure positive employee relations are maintained throughout the implementation of cost reduction initiatives.

To guide managers in the optimum utilisation and deployment of resources across the organisation including monitoring of the various categories of temporary employees working for DCWW. To participate in Job Evaluation processes to facilitate changes to organisation structures and changes to work allocation managing appeals as and when required. To represent the HR team at internal forums e.g. Operations Directorate Management Team meetings. To undertake any other duties as required to meet the needs of the business. Significant experience working as a Senior HRBP within a complex organisation Full CIPD membership and educated to degree level or equivalent Demonstrable experience of managing employee relation issues i.e. disciplinaries, grievances and performance management. Extensive knowledge of employment law with the ability to implement that knowledge to resolve work place issues and develop policy.

Excellent influencing and negotiation skills with previous experience of consulting with Trade Unions and employee representatives Proven experience of managing organisational change programmes including restructures and TUPE transfers Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Experience of working in a high-pressure environment and working to tight deadlines Excellent project management and organisational skills Good Coaching, facilitation and consultancy skills Minimum intermediate level skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook. Able to manipulate data and create reports in an HR database ideally SAP HR.
