Approval of Agenda Motion to approve minutes- Minutes approved by Anne H. and Michelle R. Special Guest Constable Tobi Araki tobi.araki@rcmp-grc.gc.ca 604-393-3017 (office) 604-798-5955 (cell) - Constable Araki is the School Liaison for any schools south of the highway. - She is the primary contact for the school. - She is available to the PAC for any information - She will be at the school once a month to walk around at recess and meet the students. - has access to all of the schools Safety plans, etc. in case of an emergency. - has access to Safety Bear for our Fun Fair if we wish.

Reports a. School Planning Committee - Michelle Dick and Shari Dick have volunteered to be on the committee. - one more volunteer needed - Kristen R is working on bringing more information and community links to the PAC Blog. greendalepacinfo@blogspot.com - Can also be accessed through the school website. - - Minutes and Agendas are available on the PAC link on the website.

- Janet Lampart will be heading this up. - next school lunch October 26 - Volunteers always welcome for all School Lunches. We could use your help to simply hand out lunches in the classrooms from 11:15-11:45am - Anne H states that everything is going well. - October date cancelled due to school scheduling conflict

- Dec. 7 (date confirmed) g. DPAC - Superintendent Novak attended the last DPAC meeting - Are working on setting up better communication between Chilliwack School PACs each PAC will have an SD 33 Email address in which the PACs can communicate with each other. - Everyone is welcome to attend the meetings, which are once a month on a Thursday, 7pm at the School Board Office - Recycling is now in all the schools. Greendale has a bin located in the parking lot that will be for all recyclables. Education to staff and students will need to happen around guidelines for recycling. - The Safer School Committee, Samantha Piper, the City, and police will be meeting soon to determine an action plan for Greendale School to become a safer school. They will be discussing topics like crosswalks, parking, walking routes, busing, etc. a. Terry Fox Run raised $1000! Way to go Greendale! b. Mrs. Atkins - is filling in for Mrs. Stobbe (Grade 1) while she is on leave. c. Me to We October 18 - The Grade 6 students will be going to Vancouver to Rogers Arena along with thousands of other students for this event to raise social awareness. d. Eagle Day October 25 Theme My Favorite Part of School e. Long House October 15 still determining who will go on this field trip f. Adopt a School October 13 g. Poetry Fest October 31 Doug Mackay will be one of our Guest Judges h. Computer Training Oct. 30 Teachers and students i. Volunteen Orientation Oct. 12, 12:30pm j. Rockin Rings program for students that is being considered. k. Life Saver Program need approval from the PAC to budget $550 for this program. A one day program for grade 5 & 6 Students. l. Library Parent Volunteer still needed to shelve books. Training will be provided. m. Staff Appreciation need 2 more months filled to bring staff something to show our appreciation. Ie. baking, etc. Happens once a month. April and June still needing to be filled. - General, Gaming, Emergency Prep, - report drawn up by Alex V.

New Business a. Budget

- This years PAC budget was discussed and a new budget was set. Some items remained, eliminated, and other numbers were tweaked, - Budget numbers and names that changed were: Accounting, Carnival, Misc., Pancake Breakfast, Life Savers, 100 Nights of Reading, Grade 6 Camp. b. Terry Fox Run - Some concerns expressed about snack that is provided after the run. Some kids dont eat chocolate (Chocolate chip granola bars) or have allergies. - Conclusion: difficult to cater to all students. Students are given the option to go back in the school to get a snack for themselves if the snack provided doesnt agree with them. - Request was put forward to ensure that all students have water and the snack at the run destination to have immediately following the run. c. Fundraising - Purdys Chocolates information going out in 2 weeks time - Coupon Books Due back Oct. 22. Orders filled Oct. 26 - Auction aiming to happen in Feb. (Valentines Day Auction). Meetings help once a month - Aviva October 22 Nov 5 (Round 2 begins). Please vote Daily! If we win we could get a large chunk of our funds for our playground! We appreciate all your votes! - Ford Drive One for Your School Shari to look into this. - Got Scrap.ca, Cookie Exchange some other ideas put forward. d. Grants - Applications are still ongoing
