Versatile Machine-Level HMI for Stand-Alone Applications
FactoryTalk View Machine Edition (ME) software is a versatile HMI application that provides a dedicated and powerful solution for machine-level operator interface devices. As an integral element of the Rockwell Automation visualization solution, FactoryTalk View Machine Edition provides superior graphics, runtime language switching and faster commissioning time through a common development environment. FactoryTalk View Machine Edition 6.1 adds new features that speed development time by up to 30 percent, while enhancing the functionality and impact of HMI applications for machine-level, PC-based operator interface solutions. These new features include Complete Symbol Factory Library to allow users to create more effective and compelling displays, in less time. Ability to embed browser window in HMI - applicationsoperators can easily access documentation, recipes and other html-content without direct control of the browser. Extend capabilities for data-logging and recipe management using a common .csv file format. A built-in Microsoft Arial Unicode font that allows one run-time application to be deployed in up to 20 languages without cumbersome font-linking. A stand-alone version of the Machine Edition Transfer Utility simplifies loading applications on to PanelView Plus without having to install and have a license for FactoryTalk View Studio.

Global Objects Global objects allow you to link the appearance and behavior of a base graphic object to multiple references of the object throughout a FactoryTalk View application, saving you development time. Global Object parameters allow the creation of reusable parameterized faceplates and templates. Usability is enhanced by the ability to deploy faceplates and templates at design time, and parameterized element can be substituted with top-level UDT tag support. Library of Rockwell Automation Built Faceplates and AOIs The library of faceplates and AOIs: Provides for monitoring status of I/O, controllers and networks, and for control of some of these devices Saves time, can easily be added to any HMI application Are automatically updated as Rockwell Automation introduces new and updated faceplates and AOIs Configure and Monitor Alarm Conditions The FactoryTalk View alarm system quickly alerts you and your operators to conditions requiring immediate action. You can use the Alarm Setup editor to configure alarm conditions. When an alarm condition occurs during runtime, the system can pop up a predefined display, sound an alarm signal, or send the alarm to a printer. Alarm system features include: Word alarm triggers based on analog tags, digital tags, or expressions Bit and least-significant bit alarm triggers Ability to acknowledge, silence, and clear alarms
Recipes, Machine Set-Up and Data Logging Using the .csv file format, FactoryTalk View ME can write data logs for offline trending analysis. Similar .csv files can be stored on the local PC or PanelView and used to modify values in the controller for recipe changes and/or machine set-up. These recipes also can be downloaded to the local terminal via an Ethernet network. Keeping System Data Secure FactoryTalk Security provides security services integrated into both the FactoryTalk local directory and the FactoryTalk network directory. FactoryTalk Security supports security policies that govern how security is implemented. For example, a security policy can define the rules for passwords regarding how many characters are required and how complex passwords must be.
of machine-level applications within supervisory-level projects. The solution also encompasses flexible system consisting of activation procedures, a common address book, centralized authentication and access control, and uniform diagnostics that can help reduce costs and extend the life cycle of your existing investments.
Scalability to Grow
FactoryTalk View Studio Scale Machine-Level HMI Applications Across Multiple Platforms The common development environment used across the FactoryTalk View suite and PanelView Plus operator terminals expands the scope of traditional machine-level HMI development from dedicated devices to a much broader scale that includes open Microsoft Windows CE solutions and Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems. FactoryTalk Machine Edition is part of the FactoryTalk Enterprise Series, which offers a scalable HMI architecture, making it easy to reuse components
