TODAY BLESSING THE THANKSGIVING BASKETS. Thanks to the congregation for supporting DCBC and Johenning Advisory Council collection drive, providing Thanksgiving baskets for local families. The food on the altar is a reminder for us to pray for, advocate for, and assist those in our community who are struggling to support their families. Thanks to Carol Blythe and the Mission Board for organizing this special project. PASTOR AMY is in New Orleans this weekend with her former congregation, St. Charles Avenue Baptist Church, as part of the Avery and Gladys Lee Guest Preaching Series. RE-IMAGINE COMMITMENT. ADVENT CONSPIRACY, 2012 We all want our Christmas to be a lot of things. Full of joy. Memories. Happiness. Above all, we want it to be about Jesus. We dont want stress, or debt, or feeling like we missed the moment. Advent Conspiracy is a movement designed to help us slow down and experience a Christmas worth remembering. But doing this means doing things a little differently. A little creatively. MESSIAH SING AND CHURCH DINNER Join us Friday, December 7, for a soup supper at 6 p.m. in Kendall Hall followed by a Messiah Sing in the Sanctuary at 7:30 p.m.. We will also have our Angel Tree, where you can buy alternative gifts and support many local ministries.
