    Description The Data Aire Driver is capable of direct connection to a network of Data Aire DAP devices. The FieldServer is connected in a RS-485 loop topology. Two FieldServer ports are required per loop. The driver is an active client. All data is obtained by poll & response. The driver may be configured very simply a simple one line configuration tells the driver to store everything in a large array. The driver manual identifies the location in the array of each data field. Advanced configurations are also possible refer to Driver Manual. Connection to a DART is not supported by this driver.     If the DAP controllers are connected directly to the FieldServer the limit of 32 nodes does not apply. According to the spec, the number of nodes can range from 1-260 under these conditions. Normal RS485 network considerations apply and this can only be achieved with network repeaters. Please refer to the Driver manual for more information.
