School
This term, I am taking 5 classes; 4 in the classroom (Greek, Christian Home, Introduction to Homiletics, and Letters of John) and 1 online (Old Testament History 2). I am also taking a lab called 'Interpretive Reading'. Needless to say, the workload this term has been heavy. But, I am thoroughly enjoying these classes and I'm learning not just the Bible, but also a variety of life and

ministry skills, such as how to live on a well-managed budget, how to file taxes, how to offer premarital counseling etc. I am really enjoying learning the Greek language, and I am seriously considering pursuing a language degree once I complete my studies at SIBI, and before entering into full-time ministry.

Alyssa's Wedding
If you remember, Alyssa, was one of my teammates in Mexico. A few weeks ago, I got to witness her wedding to a fine young man, Michael Thys. It was a surreal feeling to see one of my teammates getting married. 5 of the 7 members of my team in Mexico are now here in Lubbock, studying at SIBI: Dani, myself, Jeni, Nick, and Alyssa. Chris, who lives in Oklahoma, had come down for the wedding, so we had a nice little reunion. Michelle was the only one of the team that was missing she lives in Miami.

Mexico City and Len

Mexico City has become a very special place to me. It was there that I went on my first-ever mission trip. A little later, while working as an apprentice missionary in Len, I would frequent the city to attend leadership seminars, assist other AIM classes, and visit missionaries that worked there. Of all places in the world, these two have come to mean so much to me, and they hold very fond memories. This February, the AIM class of 2012 will be going on their trip to Mexico City for a week, and I will be accompanying them. I will be assisting as a group leader/city guide/translator to the ones whom I will be assigned. I will be flying into Len a couple of days prior to the trip to visit my coordinators and the church that I worked with there, and then I will take a bus to Mexico City (5 hour trip) to rendezvous with the AIMers when they arrive. I will then ride back to Lubbock on the bus with the AIMers. This trip will cost around $600, but I have $300 of that amount already secured. Please consider helping me pay to go on this trip, as it will be a huge blessing to me, and also to those whom I will minister.

Fishing Trip
Every couple of months, the Sunset church of Christ organizes an outreach event called Fishing Trip. The event takes place over one evening, where church members and students of the school have dinner together, and then go out and do some form of outreach. Some handout school supplies to poor families, some visit people that can't attend church, while others visit the sick in hospital. It is a great ministry opportunity, and a lot of lives are blessed by it!

Thanksgiving Break
Dani and I drove to Valdosta, Georgia, to spend Thanksgiving break with her grandparents. While we were there, I also got to meet several family members on her mom's side of the family. I really enjoyed staying with them, and also getting to see a part of the US I'd never seen before. Paul, Dani's grandad, was a pilot in the US Air Force during the Vietnam war. I really enjoyed having conversations with him about his time in the Air Force for those of you that don't know, I have a huge passion for flying! Hazel, Dani's grandma, is a baker of wedding cakes. Again, for those of you who may not know...I love to bake, especially cakes! Needless to say, I had a thoroughly enjoyable Thanksgiving break!

Bolivia, Northern Ireland, Mexico, South Africa, Salt Lake City, Phoenix, and Miami...

...what do these places have in common..?

These places will each be receiving a team of apprentice missionaries from the AIM class of 2012. The teams were announced about a week ago, and the AIMers are excited to started working with their new teammates. This means that I will be working with a new group of AIMers as of January 2013, preparing them for work on their mission field.

Three 'Thank you's

First, thank you for reading this far! Please continue! Second, thank you for continuing! Last, but by no means the least, thank you, for supporting me in my ministry studies and training. Thank you for upholding me in your prayers, and for constantly encouraging me in my walk of faith. I am blessed to have you as fellow workers in God's kingdom. I pray for you always, that God may bless the fruit of your labor in His kingdom.

AIM Service Project Trip to Phoenix, Arizona

I accompanied the AIM students on a week-long trip to Phoenix, AZ. This was during the first break-week of this term, so I did not miss any classes. It was a 12-hour bus ride there, and 12 hours back. I have gotten used to long road trips! While in Phoenix, we worked with a group called Central Phoenix Urban Ministry, which is a non-profit organization comprised of missionaries and previous AIM students. We worked together doing several community service projects such as washing cars, picking up trash, and cleaning up yards, especially in the poorer parts of town. We also did some evangelism among students of Arizona State University, and one evening, we held a devotional in a park downtown where we fed the homeless, and I gave a short lesson on the greatness of God.
They picked up trash...with a genuinely good attitude. We helped a guy clean out his backyard, and prepare the soil for growing vegetables...at his house in the center of Phoenix!

We painted this one motivated by outreach.

The city is adorned with beautiful murals.
