DRIVING NETWORK EXCELLENCE

Mentum CellPlanner supports LTE, WCDMA with HSPA and GSM/GPRS/EDGE.

Mentum CellPlanner is a sophisticated software for designing, planning, and optimizing wireless access networks. It provides superior capabilities that will save time and money during network deployment. Mentum CellPlanner addresses the requirements of todays complex radio networks and can be used in all phases of the radio network lifecycle.

Modern Platform with Flexible Configuration

Mentum CellPlanner is modern software built on the latest Java architecture with 64-bit support. It is designed for accuracy and speed in planning and optimization and provides outstanding large network support with a GIS tailored for cell-planning tasks with true multiresolution raster support. License options include support for Enterprise environments as well as small workgroup and single user environments. Working offline is fully supported. An advanced user permission system controls individual user permissions for viewing, creating, editing, and deleting different types of data.

Plan and Rollout LTE Networks

Using Mentum CellPlanner, you can plan LTE networks and model fixed subscribers as well as advanced antenna systems such as MIMO and Tx. The LTE Monte Carlo analysis in Mentum CellPlanner encompasses downlink and uplink best server along with interference and traffic analyses in order to provide a realistic view of the coverage, capacity and quality of the network. With the LTE module, you can also automatically plan and optimize Physical Cell IDs and export network configuration data for better system integration.

Propagation Models and Drive Test Data

Mentum CellPlanner includes the well-known 9999 model, a widely used propagation model tailored to the rollout of wireless networks. It also supports the Urban model, which combines half-screen modeling that generates pathloss above rooftops and the recursive microcell model that is used to calculate propagation between buildings. The traditional Okumura-Hata and Walfisch-Ikegami RF models are also supported. You can automatically match drive-test data, including TEMS Investigation data, to the cell configuration in Mentum CellPlanner in order to better tune propagation models and benefit from pathloss puncturing. With the Automatic Measurement Integrator (AMI), it is possible to re-use and refine collected measurement data automatically. An AMI database is created using consecutive drive-test measurements as it stores the unmasked pathloss values, allowing the use of data even if antenna changes occur. In addition to automatic tuning of a propagation model for an area, the Automatic Sector Model Tuning (ASMT) feature optimizes each sector prediction model individually based on the data contained in the AMI database.

Add Capacity in WCDMA Networks

With Mentum CellPlanner, you can generate a WCDMA static analysis or advanced WCDMA Monte Carlo simulation based on detailed convergence criteria. Full support for Evolved HSPA is included, which offers high throughputs by combining MIMO with advanced modulation and coding schemes. The network configuration can be imported from Ericsson OSS, optimized, and exported back into Mentum CellPlanner. Optimized scrambling code plans and neighbor lists are examples of data that can be exported back into the Ericsson system enabling engineers to more closely mirror the network reality. Multimedia Broadcast and Multicast Services (i.e., Mobile TV) can be defined in the Monte Carlo Simulator, and coverage and performance can be analyzed in connection with other traffic that exists in cells.

Evolve Your GSM Network

Mentum CellPlanner fully supports GSM technologies, including GPRS and EDGE Evolution. This includes hierarchical cell structures, OL/UL cell structures and any type of frequency hopping such as synthesized hopping. A comprehensive collection of plots and reports is available to ensure that maximum network performance can be achieved. Using the advanced AFP module, you can plan and optimize multi-band GSM networks based on interference matrix data obtained from the network (ICDM) and from predictions. It reduces the frequency reuse pattern to a minimum and saves valuable frequency resources, of critical importance when refarming GSM spectrum. GSM network configurations and frequency plans can be imported from the Ericsson OSS system and after optimization updates, these can be exported back into the OSS RC.
