The Result of Entrance Test would be declared within 07 days of the date of the test and same would be available on University Website www.kuk.ac.in If any candidate selected for admission fails to deposit his/her fee/dues on the prescribed date & time, he/she would have no claim for admission. Change, if any, shall be notified on the Notice Board of the concerned Institute only. It shall be the responsibility of the candidate to remain in touch with the Institute. The University shall not be responsible for any inconvenience caused to any candidate. Application Form received after the last date & time will not be entertained and rejected summarily. CHAPTER-2 KURUKSHETRA UNIVERSITY General Located in Kurukshetra, the land of the Bhagwadgita, Kurukshetra University is a premier institute of higher learning in India. It is spread over 400 acres of land on the south bank of the holy Brahmsarovar. Its foundation stone was laid on January 11, 1957 by Bharatratna Dr.Rajendra Prasad, the first President of the Indian Republic. Since then it has aimed at pursuing excellence in teaching and research in science, technology, humanities, social sciences, performing arts and sports. Today, Kurukshetra University is offering world-class education to students from throughout India and other countries by providing a learning experience designed to develop intellectual abilities, as well as social, moral and ethical values. The University is equipping its students with the skills, insights, attitudes and practical experience that will enable them to become discerning citizens. The Universitys programs combine the enduring value of a liberal arts education with the skills and experience offered by professional departments. The University has 434 teaching faculty members. The University also has 361 affiliated colleges and institutes in the Districts of Ambala, Panipat, Kaithal, Yamuna Nagar, Hisar, Jind, Karnal, Kurukshetra and Panchkula. The Campus of the University has often been rated as one of the most beautiful campuses in India. It resembles a large, self-contained village with lecture theatres, seminar rooms, accommodation, cafeterias, canteens, shops and sports facilities, libraries and laboratories. The most remarkable feature of the campus is the seamless interconnection of nature and the built environment. There are a number of lush green gardens, water fountains and side walks which provide an ideal environment on the campus for study and leisure. Accreditation by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), an autonomous body of the University Grants Commission to assess and accredit universities and colleges, has conferred an A grade to Kurukshetra University. The peer team of the NAAC evaluated the universitys performance based on criteria like curriculum, teaching-learning and evaluation, infrastructure and learning resources, student support and progression, governance and leadership, innovative practices and so on. The peer team in its report has specially drawn reference to the Universitys commitment to impart quality education to the students of the state, concerted efforts to preserve and create awareness of the rich cultural heritage of the State and academic tranquility and residential characteristics. Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) In the emerging global scenario of competition-focused education and training, quality sustenance and quality enhancement in the institutions has gained paramount importance. The Internal Quality Assurance Cell works to ensure quality in different activities related to academics and administration of the university. The Cell set up in the University has been effectively functioning for the last many years. Various improvement strategies based on feedback from the stakeholders like students, parents are recommended by the IQAC to ensure quality of our teaching research programmes. Distance Education Programme The Directorate of Distance Education meets the needs of thousands who wish to enroll for different courses. Today the Directorate is engaged in providing Under-Graduate and Post-Graduate education in about 36 courses having an enrolment of 35,000 students. In addition to conventional courses, the Directorate also offers professional courses in the areas of Computer, IT, Commerce, Management, Finance, Marketing, Law, Tourism and Hotel Management, Journalism & Mass Communication, Library and Information Sc., M.A. (Education) and B.Ed. (Two Year Course).

University Library The University Library is centrally located and is an air conditioned three storey building having 49,230 sq. feet plinth area and its extension as Golden Jubilee Reading Hall having plinth area of 57,500 sq. feet is almost complete. It has seating capacity of 470 users at a time and remains open on 360 days from 9.00 a.m. to 12.00 midnight. The Jawahar Lal Nehru Library has a rich collection of 355618 volumes in the stream of Sciences, Management, Social Science, Commerce and Humanities too. The Computer Lab in the Library equipped with 100 internet nodes for online access to knowledge resources having leased line connectivity of IGBPS. The online access facility has been extended to almost all the teaching and nonteaching departments, hostels and the entire campus through WI-FI Networking. The library provides an access 25 databases of different publishers having 11308 online scholarly journals including 1036 Science Direct Journals under UGC-INFONET Digital Library Consortium. In addition, Library subscribe to IEL full text database for electronics and computer science and Manupatra online legal database for law journals. The Library has automated its in house activities such as library membership, circulation of documents, holdings of periodicals, catalogue as Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC). Hostel Facilities The University at present has 22 Hostels - 9 for Boys, 1 for Foreign male students and 12 for Girls-on the sprawling campus of the university. These hostels have a capacity to accommodate 2800 girls and 2000 boys. Providing a comfortable and safe atmosphere to the students, the hostel facilities on the campus make it easy for the students to find a home away from their home. The girls hostels provide all important facilities within the complex. Each hostel on the campus operates its own mess providing hygienic and nutritious meals with a varied menu. In view of the large number of applicants seeking hostel accommodation, the university allots hostels to the students on the basis of their merit in the admission list. The University has also made available the facility to male hostlers for parking their vehicles in the Central Parking near their hostels. All male students desires to have vehicle with them, shall have execute an affidavit duly approved by the Notary Public to the effect that they will park their vehicle in the Central Parking failing which they will be liable to be penalized including cancellation of allotment of their accommodation. Health Centre The University Health Centre looks after the medical needs of the students, staff and their families. Facilities for protective inoculation exist in Health Centre. Complete Physiotherapy unit, ECG, X-ray, Round the clock Ambulance facilities adequate laboratory facilities, Auto Analyzer facilities, Ultrasound facilities, Computerized ECG, EEG, Spirometry are also available in the Health Centre. A Homoeopathic Doctor and a Dentist are also available in the Health Centre. The University has more than 52 private Doctors with different specializations on its panel for consultation free of cost. Sports Kurukshetra University ranks third in overall performance in Sports in the All India Inter-University events in which about 368 Universities participate annually. The Universitys Directorate of Sports provides maximum sports facilities, programmes and activities to enable the students to achieve and maintain a fit, healthy and enjoyable lifestyle. The university has a modern gymnasium equipped with workout machines, a 50 metre swimming pool, a yoga centre, football, hockey and cricket pitches, tennis courts, volleyball and basket ball courts, etc. The Directorate of Sports organizes Inter-Collegiate Championships for men and women in different sports disciplines every year. The Directorate of Sports also conducts coaching camps for the University teams prior to their participation in the Inter-University tournaments. Tournaments like International Competitions, National Championships, Haryana State Games, Ranji Trophy Matches and State Championships have been/are organized at the University Sports Complex. The University also organizes two/three North Zone/North-East Zone/All India Inter Universities Championships every year. The University gives Awards and Sports Stipend to the outstanding sports persons.

Department of Youth and Cultural Affairs The Youth and Cultural Affairs Department aims at providing opportunities, incentives and channels to students for making healthy, educative and constructive use of their leisure for self-fulfillment and excellence. The Department organizes various activities and programmes for the students of the University Post Graduate Departments and affiliated Colleges. Some of these include Basic Youth Leadership Camps; Advanced Youth Leadership Training Camps; Preliminary, Basic and Advanced Hiking and Trekking; Talent Shows, Six Zonal Youth Festivals, Inter Zonal Youth Festival, Ratnawali Haryana Day State Level Festival. This festival is a theme festival and all the events organized during this programme are in Haryanvi, around 3000 artists participate in this festival. Amongst the people of Haryana, this festival is known as Mahakumbha of Haryanvi Culture. In addition to the above events, professional groups are also invited to give their performance in this festival. Orchestra Workshop, Haryanvi Dance Workshop, Folk Theatre Festival, Literary and Fine Arts Workshop, Poetic Symposium, Elocution Competition, Quiz Competition are organized by the Department of Youth & Culture Affairs. The Department is working for the promotion and preservation of rich cultural heritage. Film screening by Campus Film Society. CHAPTER-3 INSTITUTE OF LAW In order to meet the challenges of globalization and liberalization and to develop an institution of excellence in legal education, Kurukshetra University established the Institute of Law in the Year 2001 on its campus to offer 5-year Integrated Law Course. The object of the Institute is to disseminate legal knowledge that meets the demands of the fast changing economic, political and social institutions. The emphasis is to look at law as an instrument of social change and progress and to inculcate amongst students high degree of professionalism with a sense of responsibility towards the society. The Institute is housed in its own building on the campus, the foundation stone of which was laid by the Honble Mr. Justice Dr. A. S. Anand, the then Chief Justice of India. It is a modern building complex having a compact area of 60,000 square feet with all the infrastructural facilities, comparable to the best in any national law school in our country. While faculty and the students comprise the essential human factors in education, the endeavour cannot prosper without adequate library and computer facilities. The Institute provides the students with a variety of academic and support resources to enhance their knowledge and skills. To acquaint the students and the faculty with the latest developments in the field of Law, the Institute invites the distinguished Professors, Judges and Advocates from time to time for special lectures. Library Facilities The Institute has its own library well-stocked with books on Law and other allied subjects with a spacious reading hall. The Institute subscribes all the leading Law Reports and Journals of National and International repute including Harvard Law Review. The students have a free access to the University Central Library with ERNET facilities and the Library of the Department of Law. Computer Lab To be aware of the recent innovations computer technology has become pre-requisite for any field of knowledge. It is all the more true in the case of legal field. The Institute boasts of a well-equipped Computer Lab to cater the need of the law students in the field of computer education. Apart from equipping the students with the basic theoretical knowledge, they are provided with Networking facility and the software of Law Encyclopedia. Besides, the students have a free access to the Computer Centre of the University.

Legal Aid Clinic The Institute also runs Legal Aid and Advice Programme for the poor and the needy. The Clinic is actively engaged in extending legal aid and advice programmes. It is also associated with Legal Literacy and Lok Adalat programmes. Pre-litigation counseling, legal and para-legal services are offered by the faculty members, students, retired judges, public spirited lawyers and retired civil servants including social action groups. B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) The Institute started a whole time 5-Year Integrated Course of B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) from the academic session 2001-02. The seventh batch of the course shall be out in July 2012. All admissions are made strictly according to the merit drawn on the basis of an All India Entrance Test. The Entrance Test is conducted with the aim and object to evaluate the communication skill, general awareness, analytical and reasoning ability of the candidates. The course contents are a unique combination of Law in theory and action and other allied subjects. New emerging areas in Law, like Cyber Laws, Intellectual Property Laws, Human Rights Laws, Women and the Laws, Environment Protection Laws, Corporate Laws, etc. have been included in the syllabi. Interactive Learning In order to train the budding lawyers, the faculty employs a mix of learning tools aimed at providing sound conceptual knowledge and realistic situations for problem solving and decision making. Moot Courts, Practical Training in Courts, Work in Lawyers Chambers, Tutorials, Seminars, Project Reports, Debates, Quiz Contests, etc. are inbuilt part of the course curriculum, as the performance of each student in all these is to be evaluated. In order to provide due exposure to the students and teachers, distinguished Jurists, senior Advocates, eminent Professors are invited to deliver extension lectures, conduct seminars and discussions. These programmes make law teaching not only more meaningful but practice-oriented with due emphasis on court procedures and court-craft. Every student is required to undertake an independent project in any area of interest in each subject under the guidance of the faculty member and to prepare the Project Report for evaluation. Special Lecture Series To acquaint the students with latest development in the field of law, Special Lecture Series is organized from time to time in the Institute. The distinguished speakers who delivered special lectures are Supreme Court/High Court Judges; Distinguished Law Professor and Senior Advocates of Supreme Court and High Courts. ABOUT THE INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES AND PROGRAMME University School of Management (formerly named as Department of Management) of this University, which is the oldest management school in the State of Haryana, was established in the year 1976 with an objective to fulfill the growing need of managerial force in the Corporate World. The school has been very successful since then in meeting the corporates requirement of trained work force at both middle and top level managerial positions. In order to cope with the emerging challenges of management education in seamless economies, the University took a strategic decision of starting an integrated 5-Year management program in the year 2003 under the umbrella of this school. On receiving an overwhelming response from all corners for this programme, the University decided to make more concentrated efforts for its promotion and therefore a separate Institute was established in the year 2005 in the name of Institute of Management Studies. The previous batches of the Institute have got placements with renowned corporate houses like IDBI, Engineers India Ltd., Standard Chartered Bank, Federal Bank, Tata Tele Services, SBI Life Insurance, Parabolic drugs, Vardhman etc. The BBA and MBA degrees are awarded to the students of this Institute on their successful completion of the courses in first three years and total five years respectively. The admissions to this programme are made on the basis of Entrance Test followed by Interview. The students admitted in this programme come from various academic, social and geographical backgrounds. The Institute offers specializations in accordance with the requirements of the industry and interest of the students. The major fields of specialization include Finance, Marketing and HRM. The Institute is determined to impart the students with best academic knowledge and latest industry practices with a unique course curriculum and industry interface. In each year each student is required to undergo a six to eight weeks training in a corporate house and prepare a report. After coming back to the Institute they make presentation on their reports which are evaluated by a panel of external and internal senior Professors as well as Industry Experts. Another unique feature of the programme is the specialization. Unlike a two year MBA Programme, the Institute offers the students with complete two years of dual specialization both in 4th and 5th year. Besides common facilities of computer and library at the University level, the Institute maintains its own library as well as a well-equipped computer lab. Moreover, the Institute utilizes the services of core as well as visiting faculty. General Rules 1. The duration of the course leading to the degree of MBA-5 Year shall be five academic years. Each academic year shall consist of two semesters, i.e., July to December and January to May/June. 2. A student is required to fulfill all the conditions as laid down in the Ordinance of Master of Business Administration (Five Year) Integrated Practice Oriented course. 3. The medium of instruction shall be English. 4. The Institute shall admit the candidates to MBA-5 Year Integrated Practice Oriented course and on completion of the course of study, the successful candidates will be awarded two degrees as under :(a) After successful completion of first three years and passing all the semesters from I to VI, a Graduate Degree of Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA).

(b) After successful completion of five years and passing all the Semesters from I to X, a degree of Master of Business Administration (MBA) . ABOUT THE INSTITUTE OF PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCES Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences was established in the year 2003 on the campus of Kurukshetra University with a 4-year B.Pharmacy course. The institute has been duly approved by Pharmacy Council of India(PCI) and All India Council of Technical Education(AICTE), New Delhi for conduct of B.Pharmacy Course. Now the institute has started M.Pharmacy course in various disciplines like Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy and Phytomedicine, Pharmaceutical Management and Pharmaceutical Administration. Institute has a schematic and well planned building with state or art infrastructure. Various laboratories in the institute are well equipped with latest and updated equipments required to provide the best hands on training to each and every budding pharmacist. The institute also houses an excellent library with modern books, encyclopedias etc. on various subjects of pharmacy. Separate computer laboratory with internet facility is available to students for fulfilling their scientific and academic needs. The faculty of the institute is highly dedicated and strives for providing academic excellence to the students. Faculty and postgraduate students of this institute are actively engaged in several research activities especially in following thrust areas. Pharmaceutics Division is engaged in development of colon targeted drug delivery, orodispersible, niosomal preparations, Gastroretentive drug delivery systems, solid dispersion etc. Pharmaceutical Chemistry division is engaged in synthesis of medicinally important heterocyclic compounds and computer aided drug design programmes. Important areas of research include antinfective, anti-inflammatory, antidiaetic agents, phytochemistry etc. Pharmacology division is engaged in research work on antidiabetic, anticuler, analgesic, anti-inflammatory and anticonvulsant activities of synthetic as well as natural substances of medicinal importance. Pharmacognsy and Phytochemistry division is engaged in extraction, isolation, characterization and pharmacological screening of various medicinal plants for diverse biological activities. Pharmaceutical management division is involved in developing essential management skills required to meet and participate in changing pharmaceutical business environment. Pharmaceutical administration division is engaged in building and enhancing the credibility of persons in procedures, regulatory affairs and clinical data management. The institute has a fully air-conditioned modern and spacious computer laboratory with latest model of computer systems equipped with advanced software packages to cater the needs of students in various arenas. The students gain knowledge about the current advancements and innovation in the field of pharmacy by using internet facilities provided at the institute. Besides this, students have a free access to the central computer laboratory of the university also.

For B.A. LL.B.(Hons.) 5-Yr Integrated Course only 1. The eligibility for admission to B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) 5-Yr. course is governed by the Bar Council of India rules. Hence, 5% relaxation in minimum eligibility condition for Blind/Physically handicapped and visually impaired candidates can not be made for admission. 2. The candidates, should secure minimum 30 marks in Entrance Test- 2012 in order to be eligible (20 marks in the Entrance Test 2012 for SC of Haryana). 3. The candidates who have obtained 10+2 through open University System directly without having any basic qualification i.e., Matric/Secondary are not eligible for admission in the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) 5-Yr. Integrated Course. 4. The candidate seeking admission shall not be more than 20 years of age (22 years in case of SC/ST and BC candidates) as on July 31, 2012. (iv) 3% horizontal reservation will be given to Ex-servicemen/Freedom Fighters and their dependents by providing reservation within reservation of 1% of General category, 1% out of Scheduled Castes and 1% from Backward Classes category. As far as block allocation in Block A and Block B of Backward Classes category is concerned, year wise rotational system will be adopted. For example, if Block A of Backward Classes are given seats in the Academic Year 2012, the next Block i.e. B Block of category of Backward Classes will be given seats in the next academic year i.e. 2013 and so on. The Director of the concerned

Institute shall maintain a roster register for horizontal reservation of Ex-servicemen/ Freedom Fighter and carry forward all fractions till one seat is accumulated through different fractions over the year. As and when the total comes to one, a seat will be provided to the concerned category. Guidelines for Reservation : 1. The Reservation of seats is as per the Reservation Policy of the Haryana Govt. and is subject to any change/amendment by the State Govt. from time to time.

2.If the reserved seat(s) of BC Block A remain vacant these will be filled up from BC Block B and vice versa. 3.The seats remaining vacant under various reserved categories other than SC category will be converted into General Category only if up to the date of display of final list no eligible candidate belonging to the respective reserved category is available for admission. 4.Candidates claiming reservation under Scheduled Caste will submit the certificate as per AnnexureII and Backward Class (Block A & B) will submit the certificate on the prescribed Performa as per Annexure-III . 5.The BC candidates (Block A&B) for benefit of reservation shall also have to furnish an affidavit duly attested by Executive Magistrate on the prescribed proforma to the effect that he/she is not covered under the criteria of creamy layer as per Annexure-III at the time of Counseling. The said affidavit shall be furnished by both father and mother of the candidate. 6.Only the candidates having permanent disability of not less than 40% (being otherwise fit for admission to the course) will be considered for admission as physically handicapped. Disability certificate should be issued by the Chief Medical Officer of the concerned District. However, the certificate shall be subject to verification by a Medical Board of the University constituted for the purpose and the decision of the Board shall be final. Physically handicapped candidates belonging to Haryana are required to submit the certificate as per Annexure-IV at the time of Counseling. 7.Children and Grand-Children of Freedom Fighters of Haryana are required to submit a certificate from the concerned Deputy Commissioner of the concerned District as per Annexure-V at the time of Counseling. 8.Wards of Ex-servicemen of Haryana are required to submit the certificate as per Annexure-VI at the time of Counseling. 9.For horizontal reservation, candidates of General, S.C and B.C. categories will also have to furnish E.S.M/D.F.F. certificate. 10. 11. 12. 13. All the eligible candidates, whether from Haryana or from reserved categories can also compete for seats allocated under All India Category. ADMIT CARD The Admit Cards will be sent by post to the candidates about seven days before the conduct of the test. Candidate must not write or change any entry made therein after it has been received by him. Candidates are required to bring their Admit Cards with them at the time of counseling. Therefore, they are advised to keep the Card in safe custody. If any candidate does not receive the Admit Card two days before the test, he must contact the Dir ector of the concerned Institute. In such case, the candidate must bring two recent passport size photographs duly attested from a Gazetted Officer or Head of Institution last attended by him/her to obtain duplicate Admit Card. Roll No., Registration No. and the Centre of the Entrance Test will be mentioned on the Admit Card. INSTRUCTIONS AND PROCEDURE FOR ENTRANCE TEST

The candidate will be given a test booklet containing questions and the answer sheet 15 minutes before the exam starts. During these 15 minutes, the candidate should read the instructions and fill all the required particulars in the test booklet. Fill in the Roll No., question booklet number and booklet code printed on the front page of the question booklet in the proper blocks as instructed on the answer sheet. Each question booklet will have a serial number and code (A or B or C or D) mentioned on the front page, which every candidate must carefully fill in the appropriate place on the answersheet. Candidate must sign on the front page of the question booklet at the appropriate place marked for this purpose. The question booklet has paper-seal pasted on it. Candidates should open the question booklet only when they are asked to do so by the Invigilator. Candidates of concerned course may check the question booklet i.e. B.A. LL.B.(Hons.) 5-Yr. The Entrance Test shall have multi choice objective questions and each question shall carry one marks. There will NOT be any negative marking. The question booklet along with the answer sheet must be returned to the Invigilator before leaving the Hall. Read the instructions on the answer sheet carefully. Sign at the appropriate place on the answer-sheet with ballpoint pen. Do not fold or put any stray mark, nor do any rough work on the answer sheet. Use good quality HB pencil/ballpoint pen strictly as directed on the answer sheet. All the candidates should bring their own HB pencils, blue and black ballpoint pens and erasers for making entries in the answer-sheet. These will not be supplied by the University. All the entries in the Answer Sheet be made strictly according to the instructions given to the candidates. Use of books, papers, slide rules, log tables, cellular phones, calculators, pagers, digital diaries etc. will not be allowed in the Examination Hall. If any candidate is found guilty of breach of any rules mentioned in the Prospectus or guilty of using unfair means, he/she will be liable to be punished by the competent authority. The candidates will be allowed to appear in the Entrance Test provisionally, subject to fulfilling the prescribed eligibility conditions/criteria given in the Prospectus. Specimen OMR Sheet to be used in the Test is appended in the Prospectus. ADMISSION PROCEDURE AND PREPARATION OF MERIT LIST For B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) 5-Yr. Admission to 1st Semester of B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) 5-Year Integrated Degree Course shall be made on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the Entrance Test. The candidates should secure minimum 30 marks in Entrance Test in order to be eligible (20 marks for SC of Haryana). For MBA 5-Yr. : The merit list will be prepared on the basis of combined marks secured in the qualifying examination, Entrance Test and Interview in the following manner: (i)Marks of Entrance Test : 50% (ii) Marks of Qualifying Examination (10+2) : 40% (iii) Marks of Interview : 10 The Interview is essential component of admission for which a list of shortlisted candidates shall be prepared keeping in view the reservation policy and number of seats in each category from amongst those who appeared in the Entrance Test. Five times of the number of seats in respective categories on merit basis of the score of Entrance Test shall be shortlisted for Interview. The list of shortlisted candidates shall be displayed on the Notice Board of the Institute and also on the University website : www.kuk.ac.in. No separate Call Letters will be sent for Interview. Only those candidates are entitled to appear in the Interview who have appeared in the Entrance Test & produce all the original certificates/documents including 10 th and 12th (with conversion formula of grade/points) along with two sets of attested photocopies required on the date of Interview and fulfill the requisite requirements. Only eligible and shortlisted candidates will be allowed to attend Interview. The admission will be made on merit basis category-wise as per the schedule of dates.

List of selected candidates for admission will be displayed on the Notice Board of the Institute/University Website and the seats would be filled up as per schedule of dates. If any seat remains vacant after the 3 rd list, the interested applicants who are otherwise eligible and whose names either have not appeared in any of the list(s) or have appeared in the list but failed to deposit their dues, must report in person to Director, Institute of Management Studies between 9.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. sharp on the date of displaying of Final List as given in the Schedule to mark their physical attendance in the Institute. The Final List will be prepared from such applicants on the same day who have marked their attendance and list will be displayed on the Notice Board. Candidates so selected will get their documents verified and obtain the admission slip from the Institute and deposit their dues etc. as per schedule. Such candidates who fail to mark their PHYSICAL ATTENDANCE upto 11:00 a.m. in the Institute (in the room allotted) shall not be considered for attendance. 3.If seats remain vacant or fallen vacant after the final counseling, vacant seats will be filled up on merit basis from the waiting list by the Director of the concerned Institute by 31.07.2012 with late of fee of Rs.500/-. 4.The candidates are required to present themselves, in the Counseling Hall strictly according to the counseling schedule. They will be called for counseling one by one on the basis of rank. 5.Any candidate, who fails to turn up for counseling at his/her turn, he/she will be considered for the remaining seats at the time he/she reports for counseling. 6.The candidates will have to produce all the original certificates/documents/testimonials as mentioned in list of documents to the Admission Committee for verification. They are also required to bring two sets of attested copies of all such certificates/documents/testimonials. The Admission Committee will check the eligibility of the candidate. In case, the candidate is found ineligible, his/her candidature will be cancelled. 7.When a candidate is found eligible, only then, the Admission Committee will offer all available seats under various applicable categories. 8.Then, the candidate will be required to choose a seat ON THE SPOT. Once the seat is chosen by the candidate, he/she will not be allowed to change the seat in any case. Selected candidates will have to deposit all the original certificates with the Admission Committee. 9.After that, the Admission Committee will issue an admission slip to the selected candidate. Thereafter, the candidate will be required to deposit his/her fee ON THE SPOT. In case, he/she fails to deposit the required amount of fee, then he/she will forfeit the claim to the seat. The fee can be deposited in the form of demand draft in favour of Registrar, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. 10. After every round of counseling, the concerned Institute shall display on their Notice Boards, category-wise lists of candidates admitted along with their names, rank in merit list, State of domicile, etc. 11. After the completion of all formalities, including verification of certificates/documents/ testimonials, and admission, the original certificates/documents/testimonials will be returned to the candidates. However, the attested copies (two sets of each certificates/documents/ testimonials) will be retained. 12. The decision of the Admission Committee in all matters relating to the admissions shall be final. 13. (iv) On production of the admission slips in the Fee Section, they will obtain a voucher and deposit their fees in the State Bank of India in the University Campus. After depositing the fee in the Bank, the candidates shall then come to Fee Section and obtain their Roll Numbers, which shall be allotted to them after submission of Bank payment receipt. Thereafter, the candidates shall produce the roll number slips obtained from the Fee Section to the office Assistant in the office of the Institute and get Section allotment slip. If any candidate does not get the section allotment slip from the office of the Institute, his or her admission shall be treated as cancelled even though he or she may have deposited his or her fee. 1. Incomplete and Late applications as also applications on non-prescribed format shall be rejected and no further correspondence shall be entertained in this regard. In case, the required postage is not affixed on the admit card/envelop(s), the Application Form would be treated as incomplete and rejected. After having appeared in the Entrance Test, the list of short-listed candidates invited for Interview will be displayed on the Notice Board of the Institute and on University Website before the start of Interview. No separate Call Letters will be sent for Interview. Only eligible candidates will be allowed to appear in Interview on the scheduled date(s) who produce all the original certificates/documents including 10th and 12th (with conversion formula of grade/ points) alongwith two sets of attested photocopies thereof and fulfill the requisite requirements. After having appeared in Entrance Test if a candidate remains absent in the Interview, he/she will not be considered for preparing the merit list. 7. If the University Authorities are not satisfied with the character, past behaviour and antecedents of a candidate, they may refuse to admit him/her in the University. In order to ensure academic standards, discipline and peaceful atmosphere in the University, the Vice-Chancellor may cancel the admission of any student for a specified period. Each admitted student shall have to furnish two affidavits as per specimen given at Annexure-VII & VIII from himself/herself and his/her parents/guardian that he/she was never found guilty of ragging and shall not indulge in any act of ragging. If a student fails to attend his/her classes continuously for seven days from the date of commencement of the classes (date of attendance), his/her admission shall be cancelled. An official E-mail ID will be allotted and communicated to every regular student by the concerned Department/Institute for sending official communication to him/her. Weekly attendance report of all students will be put on the University Website. If a student remains absent from the class for 14 days or more in a month his name will be struck off from the rolls and his/her parents will also be informed. Use of Alcohol is prohibited in the University Campus. Disciplinary action will be taken for non compliance of the Dress Code. CHAPTER-11 RULES FOR ADJUSTMENT/REFUND OF FEE 1. If a candidate after having deposited fee for admission in one course joins another course in another University Teaching Dept./Institute in the same session, as mentioned below, and is permitted to withdraw his/her candidature, fee/funds except admission fee already deposited by him/her for the course from which he/she has withdrawn, shall be adjusted/refunded against the fee/funds of the course he/she joins subject to the condition that the difference, if any, shall be paid by the candidate : (i) from a general course to another general course; (ii) from a general course to a self-financing course or vice-versa. (iii) from a self-financing course to another self-financing course. However, in self-financing courses, adjustment/refund of fee will be allowed only if the seat so vacated is filled by the last date of admission. 2. In case a candidate leaves the University after seeking admission in a particular course, following conditions will apply for refund of fee: (a) If a candidate leaves before the commencement of the classes, the entire fee deposited by the candidate will be refunded after deducting Rs.1000/- only. (b) In case a candidate leaves after commencement of the classes, proportionate deduction of fee upto the month of his/her leaving will be made, subject to minimum of Rs.1000/-. DRESS CODE FOR MBA 5-Yr. STUDENTS

The University has 22 Hostels (9 for boys, 1 for Foreign male students and 12 for Girls students). The accommodation in the Hostels would be provided strictly on the basis of departmental merit list of admissions; and in accordance with limited number of seats in hostels allocated by the Chief Wardens to each Department with reservations (20% for SC category, 3% for Handicapped- blind/disabled with 70% and 1 seat for BPL category). The forms for Hostel accommodation are required to be submitted to the concerned hostel duly recommended by the concerned Chairperson/Director/Principal. Proof of Residence viz. Ration Card/Voter Card/Passport shall have to be shown in original and an attested photocopy of the same needs to be enclosed with the Hostel Admission Form at the time of submission. Subletting is strictly prohibited. The sub letters and sublettees-both are liable to be expelled from the Hostel. Students willing to seek Hostel accommodation are advised to refer to the Hostel Rules Booklet available with the Manager Printing & Publications of University on payment of prescribed price. Any hosteller desirous of possessing vehicle in the Hostel shall have to submit an attested photocopy of R/C of the vehicle alongwith Driving License in the office of the Warden of the respective Hostel. If the Hostel authorities are not satisfied with the character, past behaviour and antecedents of a student, they may refuse accommodation to him/her in order to ensure discipline and peaceful atmosphere of the Hostels.

Eligibility Certificate for B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) 5-Yr., MBA 5-Yr. & B.Pharmacy 4-Yr. Candidates who have passed qualifying examination from another University/Board (other than the Board of School Education, Haryana) are required to obtain Eligibility Certificate from the Deputy Registrar (Regn.) after he or she has been admitted provisionally by the Institute. For this eligibility certificate, the prescribed application form can be collected from the Office of the Institute. Application Form along with all original certificates/mark sheets etc. shall be submitted in the office of the concerned Director of Institute of, Law, Management Studies and Pharmaceutical Sciences so that the eligibility certificate can be obtained. For Foreign Students Candidates, who have passed qualifying examination from Foreign University or Boards, are required to deposit Rs.500/- as eligibility fee for obtaining Eligibility Certificate. The Eligibility Certificate will be issued by the Registration Branch on checking the required documents such as students Visa and the original documents. No candidate can be given even provisional admission without obtaining Eligibility Certificate. Character Certificate Character Certificate is an essential document and is required to be submitted with other documents at the time of Interview. The Private and Regular candidates are required to obtain and submit the Character Certificate as follows : (a) Private Candidates Male candidates, who have passed the qualifying examination in private capacity, should submit their character certificate duly signed by the First Class Magistrate with Office Seal, Number/ Date etc. (b) Regular Candidates Candidates who have recently passed the qualifying examination from an Institution must submit the Character Certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended as per specimen attached. (Annexure-I) Registration of Candidates On registration, the student shall be provided with a Registration Card containing Registration Number and this number shall be quoted in all subsequent reports concerning the student and in all applications by the student for admission to the University Examinations. A duplicate copy of the Registration Card may be granted on payment of fees as prescribed from time to time by the University, provided that Application for corrections in the particulars of the students shall be entertained by the Registrar upto three months from the date of issue of the Registration Card without any correction fee. Application for corrections in the particulars received after the expiry of the aforesaid period shall be entertained with the prescribed fee.

What Constitutes Ragging : Ragging constitutes one or more of any of the following acts : (a) any conduct by any student or students whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student; (b) indulging in rowdy or indisciplined activities by any student or students which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship, physical or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension there of in any fresher or any other student; (c) asking any student to do any act which such student will not in the ordinary course do and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame, or torment or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of such fresher or any other student; (d) any act by a senior student that prevents, disrupts or disturbs the regular academic activity of any other student or a fresher; (e) exploiting the services of a fresher or any other student for completing the academic tasks assigned to an individual or a group of students; (f) any act of financial extortion or forceful expenditure burden put on a fresher or any other student by students; (g) any act of physical abuse including all variants of it : sexual abuse, homosexual assaults, stripping, forcing obscene and lewd acts, gestures, causing bodily harm or any other danger to health or person; (h) any act or abuse by spoken words, e-mails, post, public insults which would also include deriving perverted pleasure, vicarious or sadistic thrill from actively or passively participating in the dis comfiture to fresher or any other student; (i) any act that affects the mental health and self-confidence of a fresher or any other student with or without an intent to derive a sadistic pleasure or showing off power, authority or superiority by a student over any fresher or any other student. All the senior students are advised to guide and treat junior students affectionately. Instructions regarding Bonafide Residents of Haryana issued vide letter No.62/17/95-6 GSI dated 3 rd October, 1996, No.62/32/2000-6GSI dated 23rd May, 2003, No.62/27/2003-6GSI dated 29 th July, 2003 and No.62/62/2011-6GSI dated 17th January, 2012 by the Chief Secretary to Government, Haryana. Subject: Bonafide residents of Haryana - Guidelines regarding. 1. I am directed to invite your attention to Haryana Govt. letters noted in the margin on the subject noted above vide which the instructions were issued regarding simplification of procedure for obtaining the certificate of Domicile for the purpose of admission to educational institution (including technical/ medical institution). The matter has been reconsidered in the light of judgment delivered by the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India in the case of Dr. Pradeep Jain vs. Union of India and others reported as AIR 1984-SC1421, wherein it has been held that instead of the word 'Domicile' the word 'Resident' be used in the instructions issued by the State Government and it has been decided to revise the Government instructions. Henceforth, the following categories of persons would be eligible for the grant of Resident Certificate:(i) Candidates, who have passed the examination qualifying there for selection in an institution from a school/college in Haryana. (ii) Children/Wards (if parents are not living)/Dependents: (a) of the regular employees of Haryana State posted in or outside Haryana State or working on deputation; (b) of the regular employees of the statutory bodies/corporations established by or under an act of the State of Haryana who are posted in Chandigarh or in Haryana or outside Haryana. (c) of the regular employees of the Government of India posted in Chandigarh or in Haryana in connection with the affairs of the Haryana Government; (iii) Children/wards (if parents not living)/dependents of persons who after retirement have permanently settled in Haryana and draw their pensions from the treasuries situated in the State of Haryana. (iv) Children/wards (if parents are not living)/dependents of pensioners of Haryana Government irrespective of the fact that the original home of the retiree is in a state other than Haryana or he has settled after retirement in or outside Haryana; (v) Children/Wards (if parents are not living)/dependents of persons, who have permanent home in Haryana and include persons who have been residing in Haryana for a period of not less than 15 years or who have permanent home in Haryana but on account of their occupation they are living outside Haryana; (vi) The wives of such persons who are bonafide residents of Haryana irrespective of the fact that they had belonged to any other State before marriage; (vii) Persons who were born in Haryana and produce a certificate to that effect; provided that the parents/guardians (if parents are not living) of persons belonging to any one of the above men tioned categories are : (a) Citizen of India; (b) Produce an affidavit to the effect that they or their children/wards (if parents are not living)/dependents have not obtained the benefit of Resident in any other State. (viii) Children & Wards of the accredited journalists residing at Chandigarh and recognised by Govt. of Haryana. 2. All candidates claiming to be bonafide residents of Haryana should produce a Haryana Resident Certificate signed by the District Magistrate/General Assistant to Deputy Commissioner or Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) of the District/Sub-Divisions/Tehsildars of Revenue to which the candidates belong. Candidates seeking admission in educational institutions (including medical and technical institutions) located in Haryana, may not be required to produce Resident Certificate, if they have passed the examination from a school/college situated in Haryana. For this purpose, a certificate of the Principal/Headmaster from concerned institution where the children/wards studied last should be considered sufficient. The Principal/Headmaster of the institution shall be competent to issue such certificate, which should be sufficient. 4. If a candidate is admitted on the basis of claim that he belongs to the State of Haryana but at any subsequent time is discovered that his claim was false, the student shall be removed from the institution, all fees and other dues paid up to the date of such removal shall be confiscated. The Principal/Headmaster may take such other action against the student and his/her parents/guardians as he may deem proper in the circumstances of any particular case.

The children/wards/dependents of the employees of Punjab & Haryana High Court, who are discharging their duties in connection with the affairs of the State of Haryana and have not availed facility from their parent State, the State of Punjab and U.T. Administration Chandigarh, would also be eligible for grant of Resident Certificate of the State of Haryana only for the purpose of admission in academic/ technical/medical institutions of the State of Haryana.
