    ETIHAD RAIL PROJECT STAGE TWO PREQUALIFICATION INVITE FOR RAILWAY DESIGN AND BUILD INFRASTRUCTURE CONTRACTS C0303,

    , C0304, C0306 & D0201


    This invitation by Etihad Rail Company PJSC for Stage Two, consists of an extension of the Stage One railway from Ruwais to Ghweifat, (Contract C0303 137 km.), a line from Liwa Junction to Al Ain, (Contract C0304 190 km), a line from Al Ain Junction to Jebel Ali Port including a branch line to Khalifa Port, (Contract C0306 186 km) and a branch line from Industrial City Abu Dhabi (ICAD) to Mussafah (Contract D0201 78 km). The Railway shall include depots, freight facilities, marshalling yards and passenger stations, (the latter to be constructed at a later date), and will be operated from the Operational Control Centre, which is also part of Stage Two. As part of a competitive tendering process, Etihad Rail invites suitable contractors / consortia / joint ventures with commensurate experience to prequalify for the four Railway Design and Build Infrastructure Contracts, each of which includes civil, structures, track works, facilities and utilities for Stage Two. The Railway Integration and Systems Contract (Contract E0001) and Stations Contract (Contract S0201) are being tendered separately. Construction of Stage Two will start in late 2012 and will open in early 2016.

    PREQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

    Interested applicants will be required to demonstrate the ability to meet the following requirements: Hold (or be able to obtain) the necessary registrations and licences to operate in the Emirates of Abu Dhabi and for (Contract C0306) also in the Emirate of Dubai; Recent experience executing a number of projects of a similar size, nature and complexity; In-depth construction railway experience; At least one member of the consortium / joint venture (if applicable) shall have signicant construction experience in the UAE; Wide ranging experience in design and build contracts.
    Decisions on whether to prequalify applicants and for which Stage Two Contracts, shall rest solely with Etihad Rail.

    PREQUALIFICATION TIMETABLE

    The prequalication documents will be available for purchase between 10h00 and 15h00 on 28th November 2011 to 1st December 2011 and 4th December 2011 to 8th December 2011 at Etihad Rails ofces, for AED 20,000 non-refundable. Only a bank managers cheque raised by a UAE bank in the name of Etihad Rail Company PJSC and delivered to the ofce of Etihad Rail will be accepted.

    Prequalication documents must be returned by hand by 14h00 Abu Dhabi Time on 13th December 2011.
