Copy- The font of the album cover is not as very in your face as some fonts used on the front

of album covers. The font is set in capital letters and isnt

bold. The colour they chose for the font is white on top of a light blue background which gives a very innocent and peaceful feel to both the cover of the album and even the material in the album. The central panel or middle of the album art is a long shot of a man, which could be the artist, floating in the distance where the audience can just see the shadow or outline of the artist floating in the sea, looking very peaceful and tranquil. The back cover is of a plain white colour with black font on top. The names of the tracks are very laid back names such as Old Pine and Only Love. These track names are very peaceful and mellow track names which keep up with the feel created on the front and middle covers of the album.

Image- The denotation is very clear to

anyone that is examining the album. The front cover shows a person swimming in the ocean which gives a very tranquil feel to it. The middle cover is a person or what looks like the build of a male, floating under the sea line looking very at peace with themselves just floating. The back cover is just coloured white which is a very innocent and simple, plain colour. The font is not bold but just simple, nice on the eye. The denotation of the front cover is the artist swimming under the sea in a peaceful state which gives the impression that he is at peace in a kingdom of his own. The middle picture or cover is him just floating around in the sea, which again gives the impression that he is in his own world or his own kingdom where he can be at peace. He is also on his own which shows that he himself enjoys being on his own or performs on his own and doesnt like being around everyone and wants to be or likes being on his own.

Target Audience- The target audience is

people between the ages of 16-35 which is a massive age group but the style of music that he performs is conventional to that music genre. You can tell his music appeals to them ages because he himself is in that age group.

Genre- The genre is folk/rock. This is

particularly listened to by the working class people. The artist name has no link to the genre but the album name does. The name of the album conforms to the genres music and its ways which again give links to folk/rock music. The genre is very relaxing and is usually performed with acoustic instruments such as guitars which Ben Howard plays. The genre is also pleasant and tranquil which both the images used in the digipak and the track names used for the album show. Old Pine Gracious are just a few track names on the album which instantly allow the audience to associate the names with something relaxing and pleasant.

Representation- The main picture used

on the front cover is showing someone floating in the sea. The sea isnt dirty or foggy and doesnt have any other person or object in there with them. The clear blue sea is used to represent the purity of both him and his music. A clear blue sea is thought of by people as a beautiful image and that is what his music and the outlook on him is. He is floating still in the sea which is representing him almost soaking up everything that he is experiencing. It is also representing that he is at peace, in his own world away from all the noise and bother of day to day life. It could also be representing what the album will make the listener feel like, not like floating in the ocean but will give that same sense of relaxation and tranquillity through his music.

Artist- By looking at the front cover you can

tell that the artist is very laid back and relaxed in what he does. He is pictured floating in the sea which is related with being relaxing and tranquil. That can relate to also his music and style of music he plays. He is also confident with not showing his face clearly but just an outline of him or someone in the sea, which shows he maybe well, established in his genre and is confident his album will get attention and will sell.

Enigma- There is a few enigmas but the

one that could arouse the most questions surrounding it is, why is the artist floating in the sea? Also, why have they chosen to not show their face but the outline of a person floating? Why has their back cover not followed the same picture theme as the rest of the art work in the album?
