THE FIFTEEN PROMISES OF THE VIRGIN MARY 1.

Whoever shall faithfully serve me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall receive signal graces. 2. I promise my special protection and the greatest graces to all those who shall recite the Rosary. 3. The Rosary shall be a powerful armour against hell; it will destroy vice, decrease sin, and defeat heresies. 4. It will cause virtue and good works to flourish; it will obtain for souls the abundant mercy of God; it will withdraw the hearts of people from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means. 5. The soul which recommends itself to me by the recitation of the Rosary shall not perish. 6. Whoever shall recite the Rosary devoutly, applying himself to the consideration of its Sacred Mysteries shall never be conquered by misfortune. God will not chastise him in His justice, he shall not perish by an unprovided death; if he be just, he shall remain in the grace of God, and become worthy of eternal life. 7. Whoever shall have a true devotion for the Rosary shall not die without the Sacraments of the Church. 8. Those who are faithful to recite the Rosary shall have during their life and at their death the light of God and the plentitude of His graces; at the moment of death they shall participate in the merits of the Saints in Paradise. 9. I shall deliver from purgatory those who have been devoted to the Rosary. 10. The faithful children of the Rosary shall merit a high degree of glory in Heaven. 11. You shall obtain all you ask of me by the recitation of the Rosary. 12. All those who propagate the Holy Rosary shall be aided by me in their necessities. 13. I have obtained from my Divine Son that all the advocates of the Rosary shall have for intercessors the entire celestial court during their life and at the hour of death. 14. All who recite the Rosary are my children, and brothers and sisters of my only Son, Jesus Christ. 15. Devotion of my Rosary is a great sign of predestination. OUR LADYS ADVISE ON PRAYING THE HOLY ROSARY: The following messages are believed to have been given by Our Lady regarding the importance of the Holy Rosary in authenticated and unauthenticated apparitions which took place during the 20th Century. Heede, Germany 1st November 1937 - (approved for faith expression 1945) The times are very serious! Men should at last do penance, turn away from their sins and pray, pray much in order that the wrath of God may be mitigated! Particularly the Holy Rosary should be prayed very often! The Rosary is very powerful with God! Worldly pleasures and amusements should be restricted." Marianfried, Germany, April to June 1946 - (approved for faith expression 2000) Pray the Rosary! Pray not so much for external things weightier things are at stake in these times. Pray always. Pray the Rosary. Make all your entreaties to the Father through My Immaculate Heart. Offer your prayers to Me as sacrifices. Tre Fontane, Italy (1947) - (unauthenticated) "Always pray and recite the Rosary daily for the conversion of sinners and nonbelievers and for Christian unity. Lipa, Philippines 1948 - (unauthenticated) I am Mary, Mediatrix of All Grace." The Blessed Virgin said that Her message at Lipa is "the same message given at Fatima." The importance of humility was also stressed. Cuapa Nicaragua, 1980 - (authenticated in 1982) "I am the Mother of Jesus. I come to you from Heaven to ask you to pray the Rosary every day with your family, especially your children. I wish you to make this message known. It is important that children, as soon as they reach the age of reason, pray the Rosary daily with their parents. Say the Rosary every day at the same time with Biblical meditations." Our Lady stressed the importance to turn away from violence and make peace and pray for the world. Medjugorje Aug 14th 1984 - (unauthenticated) "Pray the whole Rosary every day, the Joyful, Sorrowful and Glorious Mysteries." Medjugorje, June 1985 - (unauthenticated) "I invite you to call on everyone to pray the Rosary. With the Rosary you shall overcome all the adversities which Satan is trying to inflict on the Catholic Church. All you priests, pray the Rosary! Dedicate your time to the Rosary!" Argentina, 15th November 1985 - (authenticated) "My children it is necessary to say the Holy Rosary, as the prayers it consists of, help to meditate. Today I am requesting you to start reciting the rosary with deep faith, so that I will be able to help you. Argentina, 29th August 1987 - (authenticated) "The blessing of a Rosary has much value, as much as the prayer itself. That is why it is important to have a Rosary in ones hand while praying." Argentina, 5th September 1988 - (authenticated) "Call upon the Name of the Lord with much love, with faith. The different Mysteries of the Holy Rosary are more than sufficient reasons for meditation. In each one of them, you can value the marvellous intervention of the All-Powerful in the life of His Son, and of the Mother of His Son. THE JOYFUL MYSTERIES 1.The Annunciation - Read the Bible and meditate it while praying the Rosary: Luke 1:26-38 Think about the first shining point of union between heaven and earth. John XXIII In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters, and God said, let there be light; and there was light. Genesis 1:1-3 God sent the angel Gabriel to a town in Galilee named Nazareth. Luke 1:26 Peace be with you! The Lord is with you. Luke 1:28 Mary, do not be afraid: you have won God's favour. Luke 1:30 Listen! You are to conceive and bear a son, and you must name him Jesus. His reign will have no end. Luke 1:31,33 But how can this come about, since I am a virgin? Luke 1:34 There is nothing that God cannot do. Luke 1:37 I am the handmaid of the Lord, said Mary. Luke 1:38 I will pour out water upon the thirsty ground, and streams upon the dry land; I will pour out my spirit upon your offspring, and my blessing upon your descendants. Luke 1:69 He made a solemn promise to our ancestor Abraham, and vowed that He would rescue us from our enemies, and allow us to serve Him without fear. Luke 1:73,74 3.The Nativity - Read the Bible and meditate it while praying the Rosary: Luke 2:1-21 and Mark 2:1-12 Think about the eyes of the divine infant which gaze far away, almost as if He could see one by one all the peoples of the earth. John XXIII And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. Luke 2:1 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, into the city of Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David. Luke 2:4 And so it was that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. Luke 2:6 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped Him in swaddling clothes, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. Luke 2:7 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. Luke 2:8 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them and they were sore afraid. Fear Not, for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. Luke 2:9-10 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a savior, which is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:11 And this shall be a sign unto you; you shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. Luke 2:12 Let us go over to Bethlehem and see this event which the Lord has made known to us. Luke 2:15 Mary treasured all these things and reflected on them in her heart. Luke 2:19 4. The Presentation - Read the Bible and meditate it while praying the Rosary: Luke 2:21-38 Jesus, carried in His mother's arms, is offered to the priest, to whom he holds out his arms: it is the meeting, the contact of the two covenants. John XXIII Before the world was created, the Word already existed; He was with God, and He was the same as God. John 1:1 And when the day came for them to be purified as laid down as the Law of Moses, they took Him up to Jerusalem to present Him to the Lord. Luke 2:22 Led by the Spirit, Simeon went into the temple: Now Lord, You have kept Your promise, and You may let Your servant go in peace. Luke 2:27-29 With my own eyes I have seen Your salvation which You have prepared in the presence of all peoples. Luke 2:30-31 A light to reveal Your will to the gentiles, and bring glory to Your people Israel. Luke 2:32

He will be a sign from God which many people will speak against and so reveal their secret thoughts. Luke 2:34 And sorrow, like a sharp sword, will break your own heart. Luke 2:35 The new covenant that I will make with the people of Israel will be this: I will put My law within them and write it on their hearts. Jeremiah 31:34 5.The Finding Of Christ In The Temple - Read the Bible and meditate it while praying the Rosary: Luke 2:41-52 Think about the task of human intelligence: to garner the wisdom of the ages, to hand down the good doctrine. John XXIII On the third day they found Him in the temple, sitting with the Jewish teachers, listening to them and asking questions. Luke 2:46 I came to set the earth on fire and how I wish it were already kindled! Luke 12:49 Does our law allow healing on the Sabbath, or not? Luke 14:3 Can any of you live a bit longer by worrying about it? Luke 12:25 If you love only the people who love you, why should you receive a blessing? Luke 6:32 Would any of you who are fathers give your son a snake when he asks for a fish? Luke 11:11 What shall I compare the kingdom of God with? Luke 13:20 The wisdom from above is pure, first of all; it is also peaceful, gentle, and friendly. James 3:17 His mother said to Him: Son, why have You done this to us? You see that Your father and I have been searching for you in sorrow. Luke 2:48 He said to them: Why did you search for Me? Did you not know I had to be in My Father's house? Luke 2:49 THE LUMINOUS MYSTERIES 1.The Baptism of the Lord - Read the Bible and meditate it while praying the Rosary: Matthew 3:13-16 Our soul is prepared to receive the Holy Spirit of God, should we be willing to accept it. m de P In those days John the Baptist appeared, preaching in the desert of Judea. Matthew 3:1 He said: "I am 'the voice of one crying out in the desert, "Make straight the way of the Lord,"' as Isaiah the prophet said." John 1:23 And this is what he proclaimed: "One mightier than I is coming after me." Mark 1:7 I have baptized you with water; he will baptize you with the holy Spirit." Mark 1:8 The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world." John 1:29 After Jesus was baptized, he came up from the water and behold, the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming upon him. Matthew 3:16 And a voice came from the heavens, saying, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased." Matthew 3:17 "Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit" Matthew 28:19 "I did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, 'On whomever you see the Spirit come down and remain, he is the one who will baptize with the holy Spirit.' Now I have seen and testified that he is the Son of God." John 1:33 34 Filled with the holy Spirit, Jesus returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the desert for forty days, to be tempted by the devil. Luke 4:1-2 2. The Wedding at Cana - John 2:1-11 Even if God does not intend to act, He Will if Mary intercedes. m de P On the third day there was a wedding in Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the wedding. John 2:1-2 The pleasant vineyard, sing about it! I, the LORD, am its keeper, I water it every moment; lest anyone harm it, night and day I guard it. Isaiah 27:2-3 When the wine ran short, the mother of Jesus said to him, "They have no wine." John 2:3 Jesus said to her, "Woman, how does your concern affect me? My hour has not yet come." John 2:4 His mother said to the servers, "Do whatever he tells you." John 2:5 Now there were six stone water jars there for Jewish ceremonial washings, each holding twenty to thirty gallons. John 2:6 Jesus told them, "Fill the jars with water." So they filled them to the brim. Then he told them, "Draw some out now and take it to the headwaiter." John 2:7-8 And when the headwaiter tasted the water that had become wine...(he) called the bridegroom and said to him, "Everyone serves good wine first, and then when people have drunk freely, an inferior one; but you have kept the good wine until now." John 2:9-10 Jesus did this as the beginning of his signs in Cana in Galilee and so revealed his glory, and his disciples began to believe in him. John 2:11 "For this reason a man shall leave father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh." This is a

great mystery, but I speak in reference to Christ and the church. Ephesians 5:31-32 3.The Proclamation of the Kingdom - Matthew 3:12 until Matthew 25:46 or Mark 1:14 until Mark 13:37 or Luke 4:14 until Luke 21:38 or John 1:35 until John 17:26 The Kingdom of God is reserved for the Family of Jesus - Those who do the Will of Our Father. m de P From that time on, Jesus began to preach and say, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Luke 17: 20-21 "Amen, amen, I say to you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit." John 3:5 "Let the children come to me; do not prevent them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Amen, I say to you, whoever does not accept the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it." Mark 10:14-15 "Those who are healthy do not need a physician, but the sick do. I have not come to call the righteous to repentance but sinners." Luke 5:31-32 "But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your heavenly Father," Matthew 5:44-45 "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 5:3 "Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied." Matthew 5:6 "Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 5:10 "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be given you besides." Matthew 6:33 4.The Transfiguration Read the Bible and meditate it while praying the Rosary: Matthew 17:1-8 Our transfiguration commences the moment we choose God over Mammon. m de P Jesus took Peter, John, and James and went up the mountain to pray. Luke 9:28 And he was transfigured before them; Matthew 17:2 His face shone like the sun and his clothes became white as light. Matthew 17:2 He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer greatly and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed, and rise after three days. Mark 8:31 From now on I am telling you before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe that I AM. John 13:19 And behold, two men were conversing with him, Moses and Elijah, who appeared in glory and spoke of his exodus that he was going to accomplish in Jerusalem. Luke 9:30-31 While Peter was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud cast a shadow over them, then from the cloud came a voice that said, "this is My beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to Him." Matthew 17:5 "Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill." Matthew 5:17 As they were coming down from the mountain, he charged them not to relate what they had seen to anyone, except when the Son of Man had risen from the dead. Mark 9:9 For the Son of Man will come with his angels in his Father's glory, and then he will repay everyone according to his conduct. Matthew 16:27 5. The Institution of the Eucharist - Read the Bible and meditate it while praying the Rosary: Luke 22:7-38 Nourished with His Body you will never go hungry. m de P "I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer," Luke 22:15 While they were eating, he took bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them, and said, "Take it; this is my body." Mark 14:22 And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which will be shed for you. Luke 22:20 Do this in memory of me. Luke 22:19 "The bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world." John 6:51 I have given you a model to follow, so that as I have done for you, you should also do. John 13:15 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him. John 6:56 As though it were holocausts of rams and bullocks, or thousands of fat lambs, So let our sacrifice be in your presence today as we follow you unreservedly; for those who trust in you cannot be put to shame. Daniel 3:40 So let us confidently approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and to find grace for timely help. Psalms 150:6 Happy are those who have been invited to the wedding feast of the Lamb. Revelation 19:9 4.The Assumption The different Gospels give different accounts but Pope John Paul II in 1997 said it is legitimate to think that Mary is the first person to whom Jesus appeared after his Resurrection (General Audience, Wednesday, 21 May 1997). He suggested that the silence of the evangelists concerning an apparition of the risen Jesus to Mary must not lead to the conclusion that no such apparition took place. Pope John Paul suggested that perhaps the evangelists omitted it because it might be considered biased. I would like to suggest that such an apparition simply could not be described in words and if well known was not necessary in the Gospels. In one of his letters (1 Corinthians 15:6) St. Paul mentions appearances of the risen Jesus to many others not recorded in the Gospels so the Gospels do not record all the appearances of the risen Jesus. The reason why Mary did not accompany the women to the tomb early on Easter Sunday morning is probably because she had already seen Jesus risen. That brings us back again to the question about the choice of readings for Mass today. Even though the Assumption of Our Lady is not explicitly in the Bible it has been believed by the Church for centuries. Today we thank God for the Assumption of Our Lady. It is, as the Preface to the Eucharist Prayer today says, a sign of hope and comfort for Gods people on their pilgrim way. God is silently preparing us for the most beautiful victory of all, the attainment of holiness. John XXIII I rejoiced when they said to me, "Let us go to the house of the Lord."
