Proposed Actions/Controls (Long/medium/short term) A safety officer should be appointed to watch for falling debris and signs of further collapse. Slip and trip hazards should be removed or reduced if practical as soon as possible after arrival at the incident. All personnel receive information and instruction on under foot conditions to be encountered with association operations. All personnel should be made aware of hazards associated with collapsed buildings and structures. All personnel to have suitable P.P.E. e.g. full fire fighting kit, goggles, gloves and helmet/hard hat. All personnel are under full supervision Unsupported walls should shored into position and not pushed back to perpendicular.

Appointed safety officers to warn crews of signs of further collapse and falling debris. Ensure all personnel F.B. or otherwise are aware of evacuation signal. All personnel receive information and instruction on conditions with associated operations. Suitable P.P.E. to be worn by all personnel including, hard hat, protective footwear, goggles, gloves and issued with disposable dust masks. All personnel under constant supervision. Equipment not in use to be returned to the equipment pool as soon as possible. Rotation of rescue teams and safety officers.
