30 December 2009 [MALAYA COMMAND TROOPS (1941-42)] 1. These units were deployed on airfield security duties in the Kota Bharu area of north east Malaya. The Hyderabad battalion disintegrated during the first Japanese attacks following the deaths of their commanding officer and adjutant. The Mysore battalion later transferred to the command of 1st Malaya Infantry Brigade. 2. Deployed on airfield security duties in north west Malaya. 3. The regiment arrived in Malaya from the United Kingdom on 13th January 1942, having been formed in September 1941 in the United Kingdom. It came under Malaya Command. The 251st Battery was previously part of the 63rd Anti-Tank Regiment, itself being part of the Queens Own Oxfordshire Hussars Yeomanry.

In December 1941, some anti-aircraft batteries were deployed onto the Malayan mainland, and a new anti-aircraft brigade was formed under Brigadier ALLPRESS. 2. This regiment was formed in Malaya on 1st September 1941. 3. A Territorial Army regiment formed in August 1939, it arrived in Singapore on 13th January 1942. It came under Malaya Command. 4. This regiment was formed in Malaya on 13th May 1941.

30 December 2009 [MALAYA COMMAND TROOPS (1941-42)] 1. A pre war Brigade formed for the defence of Malaya. It was then known as the Malaya Infantry Brigade. This is the order of battle of the Brigade in December 1940. It was deployed in Singapore. 2. The battalion left the command of the Brigade on 11th January 1941, but remained in Singapore. 3. The following battalion joined the Brigade on 18th December 1941, having served in North East Malaya on airfield security duties under the command of 8th Indian Infantry Brigade.

4. This brigade was formed in September 1940. It was deployed in Singapore. 5. A machine gun battalion, which transferred from 1st Malaya Brigade on 14th September 1940. 6. This battalion transferred from 1st Malaya Brigade on 14th September 1940 when the new 2nd Brigade was formed. 7. This battalion was already stationed in Malaya at the outbreak of war in September 1939. It was under command of 1st Malaya Brigade until transferring to the newly formed 2nd Brigade in August 1941.
