ABSTRACT ASEP ZAINUDDIN. Evaluation of Implementation of School-Based Management for Quality Improvement in SMAN 106 Jakarta. Thesis.

Jakarta, Graduate Program University of Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Hamka, 2012. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the implementation of school-based management of quality improvement in SMAN 106 Jakarta. Evaluation is performed based on the aspects of context, input, process and product. The research was conducted in SMAN 106 Jakarta using qualitative methods. The data was collected by doing interviews, observation and documentation. The informant who are involved principals, teachers, staff, school committee and the student. Data analysis technique that is used is descriptive analysis. The results suggest that for the aspect of context, community participation is quite high that including activity proved in organizing school activities which was pioneered and funded by the parents. Characteristics of students in general also support for the continuity of teaching and learning process effectively. Schools also have the vision, mission and goal that is clear and realistic to achieve by balancing the faith and devotion with science and technology. Seen on the input aspect of resource condition is conducive to the implementation MPMBS, both in terms of human resources, facilities and budget. From the aspect of human resources has been supported by the school principal who has sufficient managerial competence, the teacher with the quantity and quality as well as awareness for the development of good professional competence, and supported by the staff that are trained and have high discipline. From the aspect of infrastructure in general is adequate from the aspect of the budget did not experience significant difficulties because of budgetary support from government, community contributions and participation of parents. On aspects of the process for the management of the school program conducted by the SWOT analysis results are used to formulate strategies that schools can correct weaknesses and minimize the threat, combined with the ability to use force and take advantage of existing opportunities. Aspects of the process is also shown by the institutional management of schools conducted by continue to develop curriculum, encourages the school independence, and manage the school climate. Implementation MPMBS showed quite positive results seen by both academic and non academic achievement. Improvement aspect of _ context conduct cooperation with the Department of Transportation and local governments to provide public transportation routes to facilitate access of students to school. Aspects of input needs to be improved by providing training and seminars about the use of information technology to create teaching material and enhancing the competence of teachers in designing lesson plans, and the principal should contributing more direction, guidance and instill consciousness to the honorary workers in order to show the hard work and accomplishments. Improvement of facilities and infrastructures is done by the addition of LCD, laptop, and installing air conditioning. On aspect of the process, the utilization of quality improvement programs should be more intensified to encourage students to proactively take advantage of clinic subjects and

enrichment materials and more intensive in establishing communication between the school and parents through communication media such as websites and email to accommodate feedback and aspirations of the parents of students. Improvement aspect of product is done by intensifying the coaching to students who will pass and invite alumni who have successfully signed state universities to share experiences in order to enter state universities. In addition, schools need to increase budget allocations to finance school extracurricular activities.
