Task 8- Audience Research using qualitative methods.

Target Audience- My magazine Ideas:

For my magazine I want to target males between the ages on 16 - 19, I want to try and base the magazine around popular music that people are interested in a want to listen to. Stereotypical audience profile: Pop music is normally performed to a large crowd of people, as pop music is normally orientated around mainstream, popular music. As pop music is normally chart music if one of the main pop artists does a Gig then you will normally get a large crowd watching and singing along. The normal viewing audience for pop music can hugely vary; it probably has the widest audience more any music genre, this is because there is such a wide range of music that can be categorise into pop. But I will want to base my magazine around a band for my magazine in Pop Music. Pop Bands:

Target Audience:
Name: Gary Age: 19 Lives in Solihull and he listens to Pop music and goes to gigs regularly. He likes listening to all of the Pop music that is in the charts and goes to listen to bands that he can when they are in his area.

He doesnt buy that many music magazines, he only does when he wishes to find out gig dates that him and his mates can go and watch music.

He likes the look of billboard magazine, as it normally involves artists that he likes to listen to, along with the content that billboard normally add in their magazines also.

Magazine preferences: informative telling him about gigs along with interview with the interview with artists

My Focus Group
For this task, I asked 6 males with an interest within the genre, what they would like in a hip hop magazine. I then summarised there results to see what would be best suited for my target audience in the magazine.
