Front suspension The well-proven rigid front suspension offers excellent comfort and handling, with a tight turning circle. Simple service The engine installation, cabling and connectors as well as all other service points are located for easy access. This provides for rapid and reliable service, a true Volvo hallmark. Transmission The B7R is available with four- or six-speed automatic gearboxes, or a six-speed manual.

The automatic gearboxes offer the option of a built-in retarder, and for top-of-the-line safety you can opt for our Electronic Stability Program (ESP). The B7RLE allows for high passenger capacity and quick entry and exit. The kneeling function and wide centre aisle make for efficient passenger flow, and the chassis layout permits wide doors. For your flexibility, the B7RLE can be specified with an instrument cluster only, or with Volvos highly appreciated full dashboard, including control satellites. For smooth handling in delivery and production, the transport wheelbase is short.

B7RLE Low entry

Front suspension The low rigid front axle combines a low entry step with a tight turning circle and a wide centre aisle. Electronics Like every Volvo, the B7RLE performs an automatic function check at start-up. All electronics are multiplexed and communication takes place using a CAN bus. Wide rear door Smart location of the cross-member allows for a full-width rear door. Comfortable boarding Electronically controlled air suspension makes for a convenient kneeling function.

The driveline, based on Volvos 7-litre diesel engine is probably the most efficient on the market. 290 bhp and torque of 1200 Nm contribute to smooth handling in all situations. The choice of gearboxes allows for combinations that will suit any need, and Volvos single-reduction rear axle is available in a range of ratios. The benefits are the traditional Volvo hallmarks of first-class driveability, outstanding fuel efficiency and low environmental impact. The Volvo D7 engine uses common rail injection technology and it complies with Euro 5 and EEV (Enhanced Environmental-friendly Vehicle), but is also available in Euro 4 and Euro 3 versions. A 240 bhp version is available for Euro 4 and 3. For the B7R you can specify manual or automatic gearboxes, while the B7RLE comes with automatic only.

Power and green

Cleaner with SCR The Volvo D7 is highly efficient, which is the first prerequisite for low emissions. In addition it uses SCR, Selective Catalytic Reduction, in order to reduce NOx emissions. SCR is an exhaust aftertreatment process whereby an additive is injected into the exhaust flow prior to the catalytic converter. The nitrogen oxides are then split into harmless nitrogen gas and water vapour. Trouble-free maintenance In terms of lifecycle productivity, maintenance and reliability are crucial parameters. Every Volvo chassis is designed for long service intervals and swift and simple maintenance. Oil change intervals are extended and many critical components are maintenance-free, such as prop shafts, half shafts and rear wheel bearings. In addition, Volvos

multiplexed electronics system functions as a preventive maintenance and diagnostics tool. Simple service With Volvo, service and maintenance are simple matters. All service points are easily reached and, owing to component sharing within the Volvo family, your spare part logistics are simplified. You also benefit from our extensive service network, which we partly share with Volvo Trucks. There are also hundreds of specialised Bus Service Centers that provide competence, tools and parts for virtually all your needs. Particulary clean The requirements of reduced emissions are constantly revised, and Volvos ambition is to stay ahead of the regulatory framework. A DPF filter reduces emissions of harmful particles by approximately 80%.
