Vision
"There is nothing you cant do, if you set your mind to it. Anything is possible." Rick Hansen Education is in a time of change. This change has been happening at a pace that is hard to keep up with. As we move forward we must create a classroom that is creative, collaborative and challenges students to think critically. The passion and interests of the teachers subject must be conveyed to the students. In this global era, we as educators must model digital citizenship. By doing so students will learn how to reach out collaboratively and professionally to others around the globe. When students leave high school they must have a positive digital footprint. The evolution of technology is providing the opportunity for students to create content that is real world ready. Our world is increasingly ready for youth to be leaders. I strive to create an environment that allows colleagues and students to be leaders in the world. Be the change you want to see in the world. Mahatma Gandhi Technology is one of the only elements that reaches all areas of education today. Through proper use, technology will: increase student engagement, foster divergent thinking, engage students in critical thinking, and increase understanding and comprehension of curricular outcomes. If youre not prepared to be wrong, youll never come up with anything original. Ken Robinson The road ahead of us as educators is a very exciting one. We have never had the opportunity to work toward having ubiquitous access to technology and information. As all ventures into the unknown the path is not laid out for us, and some people will proceed with hesitation. Therefore we must have a technology plan that has strong leadership, well developed collaboration, and meaningful professional development for educators. When this is achieved the future of education will be what we want it to be.

Along with the building finishing and the student body growing I was able to adapt and change the learning environment of my class to suit my students. Taught grade nine English and Social Studies as there were only two grade ten graphics classes in the first year. Started up a Multimedia program. Run a Mac lab with 30 iMacs.
