PROBLEM STATEMENT: The objective of the event is to build an autonomous robot which can find its way from

the starting point to the finishing end. The robot should traverse between the two lines and walls. The robot can touch the lines but it should not completely come out of the line. While wall following, the robot should not collide with the wall. Bonus points are discussed below.

ARENA SPECIFICATION: 1. Width of the line will be 1cm to 2cm each. The distance between the two lines will be 25cm. 2. The wall will be white in colour with a height of 15cm. The distance between two walls will be 30cm. 3. Width of the checkpoint will be 3cm. 4. There will not be any 90 turns in the arena.

BOT SPECIFICATION: 1. Dimensions of the participant robot should remain 20cm x 20cm at all instants of time. There are no restrictions on height and weight. 2. No external power supply should be used. Only DC power supply is permitted and the voltage between any two points should not exceed 12V, at all instants of time. 3. Readymade micro-controller boards and lego kits are not allowed. However, PCB's can be used, provided that you bring schematic files. 4. Readymade line sensors and obstacle sensors can be used. 5. The robot must not damage the arena. Doing so will lead to disqualification of the team.

RULES: General Instructions: 1. Maximum of 5 members per team. Participants from different branches/ college can team up together. 2. Participants should bring their respective ID card or bonafide. Failing to produce either will not be allowed to participate. 3. Personal laptops are allowed to be used until the event starts. 4. Participants should register your teams by sending the following details to leincasso.robotics@gmail.com : Team Name Year & Department Contact number College

Event Instructions: 1. Each team will be given two trials. 2. Teams will be provided calibration time (based on order of registration) before the event starts. 3. All teams will have to submit their bots before the trial begins. Teams which arrive late at the venue will forfeit their first trial and will have to wait for the second trial. The robot should be submitted on demand. 4. The robot must be turned on (started) using only one switch. Using multiple switches will lead to disqualification.

JUDGING CRITERIA: 1. Best of two trials will be taken into account for judging the winner. 2. Bonus point 1: Displaying each check point with the help of a LED / 7 segment display / LCD display. Displaying so will be awarded with a bonus of 10 points for each check point. 3. Bonus point 2: Once your robot crosses the check point 2, a cop (home robot) will start from the blue point and follows at the speed of 40rpm up to check point 3. Avoiding the collision will yield you bonus points of 50. 4. Bonus point 3: Halt of 5 seconds at check point 4 will yield a bonus of 50 points. 5. Bonus point 4: Utilizing the bonus finish end will add bonus points of 75. The robot should traverse mainly in-between the two lines, however the robot can touch those two black lines. If the robot is found to traverse on a single black line without tracing the white surface, it will be considered as a penalty for every 10 seconds. Total Points = 600 + B - T - (50 * L) T - Time (in seconds) to reach the finishing end from the starting end. B Total number of bonuses obtained. L Touch penalties (Maximum number of touch penalties allowed is 3). * All the rules are subjected to change as the co-ordinators see fit. * Changes in this problem statement will be intimated to the registered participants by mail.
