Answer all questions. 1. (a) A non-stop journey from town A to town C took 2 hours and 20 minutes.

A bus travels from town A and stops at town B which is located between the two towns, for 25 minutes. The bus must reach town C by 5.20 p.m. (i) At what time should the bus start the journey if it has to reach town C on time? If the bus starts the journey at 2.15 p.m., what is the maximum time the bus could spend at town B?

(b) Figure 6 in the answer space shows a straight line AB.

(i)

Construct a triangle ABC beginning from the straight line AB such that BC = 9.4 cm and AC = 5.2 cm. Hence, construct the perpendicular line to the straight line BC which passes through the point A.

(ii)

(iii) Based on the figure drawn in (i) and (ii), measure the perpendicular distance between point A to the straight line BC. (Note: Set squares and protractors are not allowed for this question).
