t First Nations Regional Early Childhood, Education and Employment Survey (FNREEES)
Position Overview:
The Statistical Analyst is a highly skilled professional that is part of a dynamic team that will provide statistical support for the First Nations Regional Early Childhood Development, Education and Employment Survey (REEES) and other survey or data collection processes as may be required. The Statistical Analyst must have a minimum three (3) years work experience and will report to the FNREEES National Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the development and implementation of the REEES To contribute and work as a member of a professional team responsible for the implementation of national survey and data collection initiatives. To work in conjunction with the First Nations Information Governance Centre (FNIGC) national team responsible for the overall coordination of the REEES and other national survey and data collection initiatives. Conduct data analysis and ensure accuracy and interpretation of the REEES data and support all aspects of the REEES projects and processes. Provide data analysis support for the REEES research projects. As well, identify significant factors and key trends as they relate to First Nations. Provide comparative analyses between data sources using appropriate statistical methods (e.g. age standardization) Prepare written reports and oral presentations summarizing findings, including detailed description of statistical methods, detailed analysis of results and synthesis of conclusions for a variety of audiences. Assist in the technical design and scripting of the survey using appropriate software. Maintain effective interpersonal relationships with the REEES national and regional teams and REEES Regional Coordinators, respect for diversity, consensus-building judgment, values and ethics. Assist in responding to requests for statistical tabulations pertinent to the REEES projects, as required.
Participate in meetings as may be assigned. Maintain effective record and file documentation under the protocols and procedures of the organization. Maintain, protect and respect the confidentiality of the data, survey respondents, and security protocols and procedures of the FNIGC. Other duties as assigned by the FNIGC
Education:
Must have a Masters degree from a recognized university in epidemiology and/or public health or a Masters degree from a recognized university with acceptable specialization in education, economics, epidemiology, public health, sociology, psychology, or biostatistics and a minimum 3 years work experience in a research and data analysis environment.
Responsibilities:
This job does not involve any responsibility linked to the guidance or coordination of other peoples work. There are no or very few responsibilities regarding financial resources.
Hours:
Full time 37.5 hours per week
Compensation:
Negotiable based on education and experience
Supervision:
This position reports directly to the FNREEES National Project Coordinator.
Working Conditions:
Shared office space will be located at the central office of the FNIGC in Ottawa. Work related travel will be required.
