HARVEST BAPTIST CHURCH PRAYER DIARY SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE TIMES 9:00 & 10:45A.M.

MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER Chronological Bible Reading: Exodus 19-21; Matthew 18 Monday, January 28 1 Kings 18:43 And [Elijah] said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times. Lord, My Father: Success is assured if I am asking based on your promise. I have pled month after month for the souls of __________ and __________, and it seems like you have not answered. But I know you are not deaf deaf, and I am insistent; this is for your glory and according to your will. Elijah on Mt. Carmel continued to wrestle for the souls of his people. He never gave-in to the fear his prayer was not suited for your ear. Six times the servant returned. Six times the answer was the same: Go again. I cannot accept being distrustful. I will hold onto faith even to seventy times seven! Faith sends hope on an errand of expectancy to look from Mt. Carmels cliff. If nothing is seen yet, she sends again and again. Far from being crushed by repeated disappointment, faith is animated to plead more earnestly with you. She is humbled, but not crushed. Her groans are deeper and her sighs more frequent, but she never relaxes her hold on the promise. It is more agreeable to my flesh to have a speedy answer, but my belief has learned to be submissive, and to find good in waiting for as well as waiting upon the Lord. Delayed answers cause my heart to start searching itself. It leads me to contrition and spiritual reformation. Deadly blows are struck against sins corruption and the chambers of my imagination are cleansed. The greater danger is for me to faint and miss the blessing. I will not fall into that sin, but continue praying and watching. Elijah was a person of like passions, so his power did not lie in his own merits. If his believing prayer availed why should not mine? I plead the precious blood today in Jesus name. Amen. A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING Chronological Bible Reading: Exodus 28-30; Matthew 21:1-23 Thursday, January 31 Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS CROSS Chronological Bible Reading: Exodus 22-24; Matthew 19 Tuesday, January 29 Luke 23:48 And all the people that came together to that sight, beholding the things which were done, smote their breasts, and returned. Crowned and Crucified Christ: Some passing by taunted you in words, others with signs. But every one, after they beheld the passion of your death, were struck with sudden awe and hit themselves on their chest. Jesus was dying for sinners. I despair of no ones possibility to get saved now that you have died, because even those who mocked you immediately changed as they observed the cross. With such a hammer as the cross the hardest heart can be broken! Break hearts by the power of your Spirit and the availability of my witness this week. Take heed you scoffers! Be changed this day by Gods grace or you will be changed later by Gods wrath. The heart that will not be bent by the love of Christ will be broken by the terror of his name. If Jesus dying on the cross does not save you, Christ reigning on the throne will condemn you. If Christ dying does not become your life, then Christ living will seal your eternal death. Make Christ on earth your heaven, or else Christ coming from heaven will be your hell! By faith, help me put myself at the grassy knoll of Calvary. He who was worshipped by angels is now dying for the sons of men. All Adams fallen race should smite their breasts as I see in him my own sins! My sins must be an infinite offense to God, seeing how they require an infinite person to lay down his life to remove them. Suspended between earth and heavenas though you were rejected by both. They mocked your prayers. They turned your dying cries into an occasion for cruel jesting. I see now how aggravated was my assault against the holiness of God! Father forgive me, and help me bring others by the gospel to the cross. FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY Chronological Bible Reading: Exodus 31-33; Matthew 21:24-46 Friday, February 1 Psa. 22:2-3 O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent. But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel. O, Our Holy God: We will never succumb to the temptation to give up our hold on our only strength and our solitary hopeprayer! Under no conceivable circumstance will we give place to the dark thought that are not true and not faithful to your promises. We did not in the days of trial and tribulation, and we do not now. Even if our prayer is unanswered for seven years we will say, Lord you are still enthroned as the Holy One. That is settled in our minds. The faintest breath of suspicion will not be allowed to condense on the fame of our Most Holy God! You are true. You are faithful. Psalm 22 was the worst of all cases. And since it is a Messianic Psalm, it shows us how you did not deliver your Son from death, but delivered him up for our sins. Yet in due time, you did finally raise him from the dead. We do not know why you sometimes deal with us so strangely, but we should never think you unfaithful. We will not be distrustful. Not for an instant. We will never stop praying. The glare of daylight will not make us stop. The gloom of midnight will not make us quit our cries to our God. Why? Because we recognize one of the Devils main goals is to get us to lay aside the weapon of all-prayer. As long as we continue to cry, Satan knows he cannot devour even the weakest member of our flock. Prayer always prevails in time. Our faith is even more resolved not to put our dependence anywhere but God. It is not every knock at mercys door that will open it, but one eventually will! Cold prayers beg for denial; red-hot prayer prevails. We bring them as a battering-ram, our army of souls engaged in the conflict, besieging the mercy seat to win the day. With that confidence we pray today. Amen. WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING Chronological Bible Reading: Exodus 25-27; Matthew 20 Wednesday, January 30 James 4:2-3 Ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. Glorious God of Might: By prayer I am enabled to do, but before all attempts to do I need to ask. Prayerfulness has to prevail before I can prevail. Revival prayer means I need to pray like smart people eatwhen the hunger and desire hits! Habitual asking will come out of my abiding. No one needs to beg me to pray if I am abiding in Christ, because my communion with him prompts my communication. Its natural. It is when I am most conscious of the life of Christ that I am most convinced of my own death without him. John 1:16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. There is the key to revival! It is in proportion as I am hooked-up to Christs own fullness that I feel the necessity to draw on it by continual prayer. That is why I cannot live, Lord, without asking and seeking your favor. Psa. 27:8 When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek. Sometimes I want to pray, but the waters seem frozen and will not flow. I want to bear fruit. Let me claim this simple promise from your word, John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. The purpose for my being, the one aim and object of life, is to bring forth fruit to the glory of the Father. I will prevail with men and women after I have prevailed with you in prayer. What can ultimately baffle me if I take everything to you in prayer? Lord, lead me into revival by your Holy Spirit leading me into your word and leading me into abiding in Christ Jesus. Amen. SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS Chronological Bible Reading: Exodus 34-36; Matthew 22:1-23 Saturday, February 2 Psa. 119:17 GIMEL. Deal bountifully with thy servant, that I may live, and keep thy word. Lord and Master: Deal bountifully with me, because the obstacles to spirituality are obvious in my way. Without your mercy I could not keep your word, and without keeping your word I am not truly living. It takes great grace to keep this saint alive, and I trust you for it right now. Life is a gift from you. I am undeserving of it, and only you can sustain it. Preserve the life I forfeited through sin, and make abundant the life I have gained by grace. Let me live to give glory to you! This I will do because I have found favor through faith. Natural life is just existence; spiritual life is real living. I seek this as your richest blessing because it is your noblest work. Oh the rich bounties of divine grace! Help me gloriously experience them today at your hand. Why do I plead for this? Because I cannot serve you acceptably in my own strength or willpower. I cannot even live unless your grace abounds. Make keeping your word the rule, the goal, and the joy of my life. I dont want to walk in the flesh and serve sin. I pray to be able to walk in the spirit, keep your word, live in righteousness, and bear fruit by reaching others. There is no life in the highest sense apart from this kind of holiness. I prize it greatly; therefore I am driven to my knees to seek to the Strong One for my strength. If I give you my service it is only because you have granted me your grace. I can only work for you because you work in me (Eph. 3:20; Phil. 2:13; Col. 1:20; 1 Thes. 2:13). Faith always works, and it works by love (Gal. 5:6). If you deal bountifully with me, then I can both live and keep your word. Amen.

IVE seen the lightning flashing, Ive heard the thunder roll. Ive felt sins breakers dashing, which almost conquered my soul. Ive heard the voice of my Savior, bidding me still to fight on. He promised never to leave me, never to leave me alone!
The worlds fierce winds are blowing, temptation sharp and keen. I have a peace in knowing my Savior stands between He stands to shield me from danger when my friends are all gone. He promised never to leave me, never to leave me alone! He died on Calvarys mountain, for me they pierced His side. For me He opened that fountain, the crimson, cleansing tide. For me He waiteth in glory, seated upon His throne. He promised never to leave me, never to leave me alone! No, never alone, no never alone, He promised never to leave me, Hell claim me for His own; No, never alone, no never alone. He promised never to leave me, Never to leave me alone. Ludie D. INSTRUCTIONS:

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the same things over and over. This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you through the Bible chronologically in a year. Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying. Alan

GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily devotions. 2) TITHEWORK 1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our resources. 3) TEAMWORD Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 10

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had prayed. Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition. God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son. Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
