Hello From Germany!

Our first Newsletter from overseas!

Prayer Requests
Since arriving in Germany, we have realized more than ever the spiritual darkness that is in this country. It seems like every young person we run in to is self-admittedly, clinically depressed and hopeless. We ask that you pray that the spirit of depression in Germany will be replaced with the everlasting joy that is in Jesus Christ! Also, the German government is generally very supportive of social projects, and there is a chance that the town of Boppard will provide us with a building to use for free! Please pray that they will continue to show us favor and support us in this work!

We Made It!
After seventeen long hours of traveling and a sleepless night on the plane, we arrived safely at our new German home! We immediately made a trip to Ikea and made our apartment feel like home to us. Everything about our new home is perfect for us! It is a beautiful large apartment, mostly furnished, with an absolutely ideal location. Our apartment is only a ten-minute walk from the main train station, and the bus to Boppard literally stops directly outside our front door! It also comes with a wonderful roommate who has already been such a blessing to us! God knows what He is doing. We have already been here for a week and it feels like we have not stopped running since we got here. The Lord has continued to give us strength and show us favor as we continue to whole-heartedly serve Him! Praise God!

JANUARY 2013

Highlights of our First Week!

A Blessed Reunion
This past Saturday we were so blessed to make our first trip to Boppard and see several of our kids. It was such an amazing reunion and it felt like we were picking up right where we left off. We got to pray with them, encourage them, and even got to lead one of their family members to the Lord. It was a time full of joy, laughter, and plenty of tears. The next day several of them came to church with us followed by lunch at our new apartment. We have been so blessed thus far!

Unity in the Body

On Sunday, we were blessed to be able to attend the most powerful communion service we have ever been to. We were moved almost to tears as we watched, Lutherans, Pentecostals, Messianic Jews, Baptists, Evangelical Free Christians, and Christians from all different ethnic backgrounds, lay down their differences and come together for a united time of prayer, worship, and communion served by pastors from all different denominations. There is something so powerful about the Church coming together in unity!

Open Air Worship in the City Center

On Friday night we took part in an organized prayer walk through the City of Koblenz. We all split up and walked the streets, praying over nightclubs and crying out for the youth of the City. After some time of prayer, we all met together in the city center and worshipped God together. It was an awesome time of glorifying God and just being a light in the darkness!

Great to be Back!
Yesterday we spent the day with our dear friend Michelle. The young woman who testified and sang about how God had saved her last time we were here. We have had such a blessed time since we have been here and see the Lord at work in so many ways. Thank you for all of your prayers and support, we can see the fruit of it already!

Thank You!
