JANUARY 27, 2013

Naked in the Pulpit

Last Sunday I planned to continue my Live Love series with a message I had prepared on the topic of forgiveness. But I woke up that morning feeling a nudge from God to go in another direction. Proverbs 16:9 says The mind of man plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps. In other words, God is allowed to edit and he was editing my sermon Sunday morning. Instead of the message I had prepared on forgiveness, I felt lead to share a vision the Lord had given me on March 10th, 11th and 12th 2012. If you havent heard the message in its entirety, I encourage you to visit the church website www.charlottetowncommunitychurch.com and listen to it. Rather than cover all of it here, I want to address two significant points. At one point Jesus spoke to me and said: let me My ways are not your ways. I build differently than you build. Here, show you a more excellent way.

And with that he showed me the text of 1 Corinthians 13, Saint Pauls great chapter on love. Love is the more excellent way that God uses to build his church, his way. This fits so very well with our current emphasis on living loved by God and living love toward one another. The second significant point came at the end of the vision. Again Jesus spoke to me saying: Pay attention Tom, the what is the same, the how is different. I believe this enigmatic statement means that what we believe concerning our faith remains the same, but how we live it is changing. The journey ahead promises to be exciting. Live Loved, Tom

A Charlottetown Community Church Group

Make allowance for each others faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace.
