Drain coupling helps divert water away from the hatch structure. Water is directed through the channel in the frame to a drain coupler, which is connected to a drainage pipe. In this series, the standard coupler location is on the bottom of the frame.

Pentahead Plug and Post Key A new locking option is the recessed Pentahead Slam lock plug. Unlike most Pentaheads, this option has a specially machined inverted bolt (plug), which can be easily applied to any existing hatch with a Slam lock. The key is a specially machined pentahead post tool. You wont find a key to this at your local home building store.

SAFE HATCH Safety Grate System

Safety and Security Our SAFE HATCH safety grates cover an opening and provide fall through protection in conformance with OSHA standard 1910.23. Standard Features Doors cannot be closed unless the fall through protection has been put back in place (protecting the next operator). Visual inspections and limited maintenance can be done while safety grate is left in place. Safety orange aluminum grates create a visual barrier around the pit. The orange epoxy painted grates create an awareness of the hazard. Quality Components Built with all stainless steel hardware, grates are also designed to withstand corrosive environments and provide 300 psf pedestrian rated fall through protection. Also available in H20 for low density traffic. State-of-the-Art Manufacturing We strive for continuous improvement in all of our manufacturing processes. MPIC multi-tool pick bar Double assembly available Self-engaging safety bar Lift assist Optional aluminum safety grates Top and bottom flange frame designs Grating available Lift Assist Lift assist is a corrosion-resistant stainless steel mechanical spring strut. The rugged design is clean and maintenance free. The strut takes up less space in the clear opening than a traditional spring assist. It is fully selfcontained, which avoids high stress exposed coils. Made without internal gases or seals, the struts have an effective operating temperature range of -30 F to 400 F. The durability has been tested at over 150,000 cycles.
