THE AUTOMATIC RECOGNITION SYSTEM - ARS

The drawn ball ARS consists in being able to read immediately the number of each drawn ball through a captor reading the tag included in each WinTV drawing ball during the course of the manufacturing process.

This is an essential part of the whole drawing security. More than the immediate recognition of the drawn balls, WinTV offers before all a fullcomputerized management of the drawing balls.

In a drawing machine, the randomly is given by the moving parts, which means the drawing balls. The only reason for a draw not being random would be a difference in the size or the weight of the balls in a same set. Since those are very intensively checked upon manufacturing, the danger is more a question of manipulation or replacement of balls into a same set.

THE DRAWING BALL MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE - DBMS

In order to make it impossible, WinTV developed a complete Drawing Ball Management Software (DBMS). Based on the fact that each WinTV drawn ball includes a tag (0,09gr) giving it a unique identification number, the DBMS stores all the sets of balls and all the balls belonging to a given set (which is numbered or defined by the using lottery) and can check at any time that a ball is part of a given set.

In particular, it enables the Lottery to check during the loading of the balls, that each ball belongs to the set of balls used for a given draw. This represents a fantastic security feature. The WinTV software stores all the sets of balls, with the history and specifications (weight, diameter, tag

identification) of each ball of each set.

THE DRAWING BALL VALIDATION MACHINE

The Drawing Ball Validation Machine is a special system developed by EDITEC/WinTV to ensure the security of the ARS Automatic Recognition System and provides a full management on the drawing process.

The machine consists in a balance and an ARS tag reader assembled, which provides in just one equipment all necessary functions to have a safe management of all sets of balls involved in the drawing process.

The machine is connected to a laptop or PC running the Drawing Ball Management Software (DBMS). The system allows, besides several

management and reports options, to check and verify the weight, the size and the number of each ball and also the different sets of balls with clear, simple and safe operations.
