" ASTRONOMICAL SUPPORT FOR LORBER A few a s t r o n o m e r s , d i l i g e n t i n t h e i r o b s e r v a t i o n s o f t h e moon, h a v e i n d e e d n o t e d s u r f a c e c h a n g e s d u r i n g t h e moon d a y p a r t i c u l a r l y in c e rta in c ra te rs . T h ese c h a n g e s c a n be e x p l a i n e d a s t h e 1 4 - d a y l i f e c y c l e o f moon v e g e t a t i o n . In h is e x te n siv e su rv ey of a s t r o n o m ic a l o b s e r v a t i o n s o f t h e moon, i n h i s b o o k , "The E x p a n d in g Case F o r The UFO", M.K. J e s s u p : w r o te t h i s : " T h e re a r e many a r e a s on t h e moon w h ic h seem t o h a v e c h a n g e s o f c o l o r a s t h e l u n a r d a y a d v a n c e s , some w i t h i n t h e c r a t e r s and some o u t s i d e . T h ese s p o t s c h an g e s i z e , s p r e a d and c o n t r a c t , o r d isa p p e a r. T hey move i n a m anner s u g g e s t i v e o f amoebae s e e n i n t h e f i e l d o f a m ic ro sc o p e . " I n t h e ' I n t e l l e c t u a l O b s e r v e r 1 (volum e V, p a g e 2 6 0 ) Webb d i s c u s s e d p o s s i b i l i t i e s o f v e g e t a t i o n on t h e moon. He a s s e m b le d much fa v o ra b le e v id e n c e , p a r t i c u l a r l y i n th o se p a tc h e s o f c y c lic change. G r u i t h u i s e n , he r e m a r k e d , h a d n o t e d t h e c h a n g i n g t i n t s s o c o n t i n u o u s l y and r e p e a t e d l y t h a t he was a b l e t o c l a s s i f y them i n t o c o l o r s , s h a d i n g s and t y p e s o f d e v e l o p m e n t . G r u i t h u i s e n was c o n v in c e d t h a t t h e y i n d i c a t e d v e g e t a t i o n . . . ( h i s ) o b s e r v a t i o n s a r e now among t h e m o st v a l u a b l e o f a l l f o r t h e c a s e f o r t h e UFO a l t h o u g h r e p u g n a n t t o f o r m a l a s t r o n o m e r s . He r e c o r d e d w h a t e v e r s u g g e s t e d l i f e a n d i n t e l l i g e n t a c t i o n on t h e moon. . . Around t h e t u r n o f t h e c e n t u r y , W. H. P i c k e r i n g , who w r o t e and i l l u s t r a t e d t h e f i n e s t b o o k on t h e moon p r o d u c e d i n A m e ric a , came t o t h e c o n c l u s i o n t h a t l i f e d o e s e x i s t on t h e moon, a t l e a s t v e g e t a b l e l i f e . P i c k e r i n g 's o b s e rv a tio n s w ere made i n t h e c l e a r l i g h t o f th e Andes ( h i g h e s t m o u n ta in s i n S o u th A m e r i c a ) , u n d e r u n s u r p a s s e d c o n d i t i o n s . . .
