Best Drilled Freshman and Sophomore in Outfit/Major Unit

The following gives a list of expectations for the determination of best drilled freshman/sophomore. This should give a general idea of the competition and allow outfits to begin training their cadets toward competing. The score card is still being determined and will be forwarded within the week. REQUIREMENTS: In order for a freshman or sophomore to compete they must meet the following: Passing PFT in Fall 2012 Last Semester GPA of 2.5 or above In Good Standing with Corps/University

Outfit Level: Each outfit will be individually responsible for determining which cadet (both freshman and sophomore) will be advanced to compete at the major unit level. This competition rates the best drilled as the cadet most capable of calling a block through a list of commands. The commands expected to be performed to determine best drilled within an outfit are as follows, to be called to a block that is currently at the position of attention:

DRESS RIGHT ABOUT FACE PARADE REST ATTENTION HAND SALUTE FORWARD MARCH COLUMN RIGHT COLUMN LEFT TO THE REAR MARK TIME No cuts should be taken from the Freshman or Sophomore calling the block for mistakes made within it. Once again, this competition is to determine cadet most capable of calling a block correctly. Keep in mind the only commands that can be called after an about face is an about face, and the same for a to the rear. Once the outfit determines their best drilled freshmen/sophomore, they will submit that name to the Major Unit staff so that they can conduct the Major Unit Best Drilled Competition.

Major Unit Level: Major unit staffs will be responsible for determining which one of the 4/5 sophomores and which one of the 4/5 freshman will continue to the Corps level of competition. The order of movements will be largely similar to that above, with minor additions. The order they are to be called is as follows: DRESS RIGHT ABOUT FACE PARADE REST ATTENTION HAND SALUTE ATTENTION SIDE STEP LEFT FORWARD MARCH COLUMN RIGHT FLANKS (R/L) COLUMN LEFT TO THE REAR MARK TIME
