The Thyroid Gland is a butter-fly shaped gland

located just below the voice box in front of the trachea. This gland regulates the way the body uses energy by producing hormones

Disorders of The Thyroid Gland

Thyroid disease can be a result of Hyperthyroidism- Over active thyroid or Hypothyroidism Under active thyroid Menopause can cause thyroid disease to be become present. Cancer can be cause of thyroid disease

Chinese Medicine Treatment

In Chinese medicine, hyperthyroidism would be described as a deficiency syndrome or Yang Deficiency. This would be considered a disease pattern of excess due to Yin Deficiency.
