LOVE
Obviously Valentines Day is happening this month and we have to talk about it. I, personally, have never had a Valentine, but I have seen the movie Valentines Day so I think I am pretty up to speed on what goes down. Though I am 21, single and have never had a Valentine, you will not find me bashing the holiday and referring to it as Single Awareness Day--like, thats dramatic! I actually think it is very cute that America has a holiday specifically designated to celebrate love! I love love and genuinely believe that love is one of the best feelings in the world. I believe love is the reason your body feels warm after drinking Tequila, love is the reason Britney Spears survived the year 2007 and I believe love is what makes life worth it. So, if you have a Valentine this year, congrats--use a condom! If you do not, congrats because you can meet your soulmate any moment now, and that is what makes the future so exciting. Alright, I have to go now... I think I just heard a pebble being tossed at my window. Happy Valentines Day, love birdswhether you are flocking or not.

resh off a show in Detroit and en route to LA, Mim, one of the gorgeous twins that make up EDM sensation Nervo, took a moment to speak with us.

How did you make the transition from from opera to EDM?

We started learning piano from a young age and we did voicewe had singing lessons. You dont learn electronic music when youre young. The only way to go through the grades is to be classically trained, and as soon as we could branch into contemporary music, we did.
what was it like playing the main stage at Ultra in 2010?

There arent a lot of female DJs in the EDM world. what does it feel to be in a music genre that sometimes can feel like a boys club?

what are yall listening to right now?

Im listening to Ellie Goulding and I love Jack Johnsonjack Johnson takes me to another place, which I love. Were constantly broadening our horizons. We can zone out to it, its not what we do, so I can really enjoy it.
Are there any crazy moments that stand out since youve been performing?

We were totally tripping out. It was a big, big moment for us and ever year going back, its unreal.
of all the people you have worked with (Ke$ha, brittany Spears, Niki Minaj, etc.) who was the best to work with?

We never really concentrate on the fact that were girlsweve never been boys. It might be more male dominated, but were fine with that and weve found the guys have been very supportive.
what was like to be named the highestranked female DJs ever, at 46, on DJ MAgs top 100 list?

I feel like our fans, really, are crazy unreal. Last night a guy shaved Nervo into the back of his head. I think our fans are just the craziest and the best. We had someone tattoo the logo on their arm.
what would you be doing if you werent doing music?

We cant say favorites because everyones so

Incredible againanother pinching ourselves moment. DJ MAG top 100 was a big surprise for uswe had no idea we wouldve made the top 50.

I dont think we would be doing anything but music. I think we would keep doing it. Music is our lives, we love it. Maybe if I had to say one thing, Id say chefs. Cooking for us is very therapeutic.

whats the craziest thing thats ever happened to you at show?

the theme song for the 2012 MVP basketball games and playing on national television. It was very fucking cool to experience that.
If you werent doing this, what would you be doing?

I mean, I would never, never, never do anything that I dont like. So, if I wasnt a DJ, Id probably be a wakeboard rider because thats my second passion!
what are three fun facts about you?

Jahan was crowd surfing during our last song at Meltdown in Dallas, and she missed the crowd by the smallest amount and sliced into her leg on the barrier. She didnt even notice and crowd surfed while her leg was gashed open. She had to get stitches after.
what has been the most memorable part of your career thusfar?

IF we had to answer, Rain Man used to want to be a soccer player, Yasmine would probably own a restaurant or probably be doing something else in the hospitality industry, and Jahan would have continued her studies at college.
what are three fun facts about Krewella?

Well, first of all,I hate vegetables. Secondly, I hate vegetables! Last but not least: I really HATE vegetables! I guess you can say I hate vegetables three times.

No matter if youre single or all booed up this february the 14thyoure bound to be hungry! whether youre looking for a romantic meal to share over candlelight with your soulmate of the week or a feast to ingest solo on the couch, in stained sweatpants, in between The Notebook, Love Actually, and loneliness-induced sobs n shots, this menu is just the ticket. so raise your glasses, heres to love! and eating your feelings, naturally.

INgrEDIENTS 5 Washed and quartered strawberries c. Chopped walnuts c. Feta 1 Small package spinach c. Balsamic vinaigrette DIrEcTIoNS 1. Combine all ingredients except strawberries in large bowl and mix so all ingredients are coated with dressing and incorporated. 2. Plate and top with strawberries, even divided.

DIrEcTIoNS 1. heat large pot on medium heat and cook bacon, reserve liquids, and then set aside and chop into bite-sized pieces. 2. season chicken with salt and pepper then lightly coat in flour. 3. pan sear chicken in same pot with bacon drippings, and sear in batches. do not crowd pan. set chicken aside. 4. in same pot add 2 tbsp. olive oil and add shallot or onion. Cook until translucent, and once translucent, add garlic and cook for another minute without burning. stir continuously.

add Marsala wine to pot, deglazing the pan, and be sure to scrap the bottom of the pot. 6. let wine cook off for 3-4 minutes, and once the wine reaches a simmer, add chicken stock. 7. season with salt and pepper. 8. add chicken back to pot and turn heat to low. (the liquid should have thickened.) 9. allow chicken to continue to cook for about an hour or until it's not pink in the center. 10. once fully cooked, add the mascarpone or cream cheese and let it melt. sprinkle with bacon immediately before serving.

INgrEDIENTS Strawberries Chocolate pieces or chocolate chips DIrEcTIoNS 1. Wash and dry strawberries. 2. Melt chocolate in the microwave in 30 seconds increments, stirring in between. 3. Dip strawberries into chocolate. Let chocolate drip off and place on wax paper to cool and harden.

1 Clove of garlic, or 1 tbsp. chopped garlic 2 c. Marsala wine 4 c. Chicken stock 1/2 c. Mascarpone or cream cheese salt and pepper to taste

Divide ground turkey into 3 sections and make three different things for the week. meatballs, tacos, meatloafthe possibilities are endless. Dont forget the freezer. When you cook, think about making enough for leftovers, not only for that week but to put in the freezer for later. If your parents have a Costco membership, ask them to get you a few $10 gift cards. This will get you in the door and through checkout.

DIrEcTIoNS 1. peel garlic and wrap with olive oil and salt in aluminum foil, ensuring there are no leaks. Roast in oven at 300 degrees for 1.5 hours. 2. wash potatoes and peel if desired. 3. place potatoes in large pot cover completely with water and salt heavily.

Cook on medium to high until fork tender, then drain. in pot (while potatoes are still draining) add milk, butter, and roasted garlic cloves. once butter melts, add potatoes back into pot. using a potato masher or fork, mash potatoes to desired consistency. add salt and pepper to taste and enjoy!

INgrEDIENTS Kosher salt or coarsely ground sea salt 1 c. Tequila (comes out to 2 1/2 per person) c. Fresh lime juice c. Fresh orange juice 2 tsp. Agave nectar or simple syrup 4 Sliced strawberries Lime for garnish DIrEcTIoNS 1. In pitcher or large cup, mix tequila, lime and orange juice, agave nectar, and strawberries. Stir well. 2. Salt (or sugar) the rim of glasses and garnish with a wedge of lime. Serve on the rocks. 3. *Single? Feel free to add an extra shot.
