Jumaa Prayer
for the Muslims of Africa and beyond
Intercede with Us for the Muslim World!
But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect . . . (1Pe 3:15). Your Muslim neighbors are watching you! What are they seeing and concluding about your faith? Let's pray this week that the Lord will shine through us and help us to be ready to give an answer to those who are seeking God.

Today's Prayer Requests: From Students, Alumni, and Missionaries

SIERRA LEONE: An alumnus pastoring in Freetown writes, Please pray for the salvation of Muslims in Sierra Leone. They are on the increase, with more mosques than churches. The Muslim population is growing up to 60 percent. [Some estimates are up to 77%.] Other Christian groups including Catholic, Anglican, Methodist, etc are 20 percent; percent of born-again Christians, 15; free thinkers 5. Christians are free to evangelize. NIGER/TOGO: Please pray for the Nigerien merchants in Lom, many of whom sell their wares just outside the walls of WAAST. Many have heard the Good News through WAAST students and Radio Jesus Loves You, and some have accepted the Lord. Please pray for their spiritual growth and that more will be touched.

In the News
LONDON, ENGLAND: London's population of 8.17 million includes 1 million Muslims, mostly young families. They do not integrate into society, and many Britons are leaving the suburbs where Muslims have settled. Radicalism is growing as some British-born Muslims visit Islamic countries to learn about jihad, then return home. Pray that the Holy Spirit will lead and empower believers living in these neighborhoods to reach out to these immigrants. IRAN: Pastor Saeed Abedini, an Irano-American arrested in September for threatening national security, has a small window of time to appeal his 8-year sentence at Evin Prison in Tehran. Please pray that the Lord will touch the heart of the judge. You can sign a petition on his behalf at http://savesaeed.org/; 300,000 signatures are needed by February 20. Pray for God's comfort for Pastor Saeed, as all communication with his family in the U.S. has been cut off. His wife, Naghmeh, says he fears he has been forgotten. Pray also for Naghmeh, who has been ill.

From Global Initiative*

Pray for Bangladeshi Christian children taken under false pretenses to Islamic madrassas (schools) for jihad training. This past week university students rescued 19 children who were being bused to the capital, Dhaka, to be sold to madrassas. They also captured the trafficker. Hundreds of children are placed in these schools, given Muslim names, and prepared for jihad. See more at http://bit.ly/Y6Uyqn.

For Muslim Women**

Please pray for the wife, children and community who grieve the loss of a brave African pastor and missionary who was assassinated this past week. Pray that the blood of this martyr will indeed be the seed of the church in the land where God called him to serve. Read more at http://bit.ly/12gsxnS.
