Instructions for Authors

Serbian Journal of Sports Sciences is a broad journal that aims to bridge the gap between all professionals in the fields of sports sciences. The journal serves an international audience and is of interest to professionals worldwide. The journal covers major aspects of sports sciences biomechanics, motor learning & control, sports medicine, exercise physiology, sport testing and performance, sports psychology, sports management, sports biochemistry, sports metrology, training methodes etc. The journal publishes original research utilizing a wide range of techniques and approaches, reviews, commentaries and short communications. Each manuscript must be accompanied by a statement that it has not been published elsewhere and that it has not been submitted simultaneously for publication elsewhere. In cases where an article that has already been published elsewhere is submitted, this article will be rejected and the Journal where the article was published in will be notified.

Article structure
Generally, articles must be divided into the following sections:

Login with your username and password. Go to Archive and click on Submit button. Fill out the form, including the file with the complete manuscript in MS Word format. After that, your manuscript will be checked by our administrators and reviewers. Listing and status of all your manuscripts submitted to SJSS can be tracked in real time if you click on tab My articles in Archivemodule. If necessary, during review period you will be able to edit submitted data and upload updated versions of your manuscript simply by clicking on the coresponding edit icon in the My articles list.

Each manuscript must be accompanied by a statement that it has not been published elsewhere and that it has not been submitted simultaneously for publication elsewhere. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted material from other sources and are required to sign an agreement transferring the copyright to the publisher. All accepted manuscripts, artwork, and photographs become the property of the publisher. Authors are asked to submit with the manuscript the names, mailing addresses, and e-mail addresses of three individuals that would be suitable independent reviewers. All parts of the manuscript should be typewritten, double-spaced, with margins of at least 3cm on all sides. Number manuscript pages consecutively throughout the paper. The maximum preferred length is 25 units, where a unit is one typewritten page of prescribed format or one figure. Authors should also supply a shortened version of the title suitable for the running head, not exceeding 50 character spaces. Each article should be summarized in an abstract of minimum 150 and no longer then 200 words in descriptive format. Avoid abbreviations, diagrams, and references to the text. Abstracts should be accompanied by three to five keywords that will facilitate indexing and data retrieval purposes.

Illustrations
Illustrations submitted (line drawings, halftones, photos, photomicrographs, etc.) should be clean originals or digital files. Digital files are recommended for highest quality reproduction and should follow these guidelines: 300 dpi or higher; sized to fit on journal page; EPS, TIFF, or PSD format only; and submitted as separate files, not embedded in text files. Color illustrations will be considered for publication; however, the author will be required to bear the full cost involved in their printing and publication. The charge for the first page with color is 1000.00. The next three pages with color are 500.00 each. A custom quote will be provided for color art totaling more than 4 journal pages. Good-quality color prints or files should be provided in their final size. The publisher has the right to refuse publication of color prints deemed unacceptable.

Tables and Figures


Tables and figures should not be embedded in the text, but should be included as separate sheets or files. A short descriptive title should appear above each table with a clear legend, and any footnotes suitably identified below. All units must be included. Figures should be completely labeled and captions should be typed, double-spaced, on a separate sheet. All original figures should be clearly marked in pencil on the reverse side with the number, author's name, and top edge indicated.

References
Cite references within the text based on the name-year system of CBE style, e.g, either "In their article, Ostojic et al. (2006) discuss..." or "It has been shown (Ostojic et al. 1981)." Use et al. when the number of authors is more than 3. The full list of references should be collected at the end of the paper in alphabetical order. Please, use no more than 30 references in manuscript for original and scientific article, and no more than 100 references for review article. Examples: Dopsaj, M. (1999). Footnotes
Use sparingly if at all. Any note of acknowledgement or author identification will appear on the opening page of the paper as a footnote.

Reprints
Each corresponding author of the article will receive 2 complimentary copies of the issue in which the article appears. Reprints of individual articles are available for order at the time authors review page proofs. A discount on reprints is available to authors who order before print publication.
