Jobs for Illinois Graduate Programs

Team Up to Help St. Jude’s
Children’s Hospital
In a united effort, fifteen schools have combined support and commitment to raise funding for St. Jude’s Hospital in Memphis , Tennessee. St. Jude is unlike any
other pediatric treatment and research facility. With research and patient care under one roof, St. Judes houses many of today’s most gifted researchers along
with pediatricians who can provide treatment without regard to the family’s ability to pay. Many doctors send their sickest patients to this facility where cutting-
edge research and revolutionary discoveries happen every day.

Jobs for Illinois Graduate Programs fosters service learning activities as a key part of their total program. At a Leadership Development Conference conducted
early in the fall, Service Learning Coordinators from each participating school selected a project so that all schools could strive together to have a strong impact.

Upon returning to school Anna-Jonesboro service learning Coordinator Dustin Young organized coin war competition between classes. The trick to this competition is
pennies are worth positive points and silver and green are worth negative points. At the end of the competition AJ donation to the groups fundraising efforts was
$559.43. The total group effort was $13,873 donated to St. Jude’s Hospital.

In a society full of self-serving young people, these students stand out as individuals who truly believe that they can make a difference in life by serving others.
