It is a futile exercise on part of Supreme Court of Pakistan to give extension in deadline because Government is determined to defy court orders and Aug.08 will not bring any change in Government stance. Apart from presidential immunity there is another aspect attached to it. An overwhelming majority of ministers and Government functionaries are involved in mega corruption cases. Every new sun brings up new stories of corruption by Government functionaries and all of them are protecting each other starting from President of Pakistan till lower Government functionaries. Former Prime Minister Youssef Raza Gillani, his sons and his cabinet ministers were all involved in mega corruption cases. He followed the policy of promoting everybody with a criminal record. Incumbent prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf was Water and Power Minister in Gillani cabinet. He was named in mega corruption in the ministry involving Rental power Plants. According to an estimate he was involved in 400 million rupees.
