DACOTAH RIFLE LEAGUE COMPETITION REGULATION, as revised September 1978.

NUMBER OF MATCHES: The season shall consist of eight (8) matches in which each team will fire against all other teams. Separate match schedule will be provided. TYPE OF MATCH: Each match shall consist of the firing of forty (40) rounds at the distance of fifty (50) feet; ten (10) rounds in each of the following positions, prone, sitting, kneeling, and standing. Any .22 cal. Rifle (NRA rule 3.2) may be used. NRA rules will apply with respect to legal positions, time limits, and all conditions of firing any sights. ALLOWABLE TEAMS AND COMPETITORS: Each club will compose one team. The number of shooters is not limited, but only the four (4) high scores in each position will be used in computing the team scores for each match. ENTRIES: CLUB ENTRIES FOR THE SEASON MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE LEAGUE SECRETARY ON OR BEFORE NOVEMBER 20. Valid entry shall consist of the completed entry form as furnished to each club by the League Secretary. Among other information, the entry form will require correct names, addresses, and current NRA classifications. The entry fee shall be determined before each season by the Secretary on the basis of anticipated expenses. CLASSIFICATION OF COMPETITORS: Competitors shall be entered under their current NRA gallery classifications when registering. Classifications are determined by NRA rules 19.1-19.9 expect as follows: Special Tyro Class: A beginning shooter who has not participated in any form of organized rifle marksmanship, may enter in the Tyro Class provided by this league. TARGETS AND SCORING: Marked 11-bull targets shall be sent to each club secretary by the League Secretary. Each competitor shall be assigned a number for the full season. Fired targets submitted for scoring shall require the signature of the competitor, thereby certifying his compliance with all applicable rules. Each competitor shall be required to complete his aggregate in a match in the same evening (or day). If necessary, targets may be plugged be an official scorer, if used in a shoulder-to-shoulder match, in all other cases, plugging is restricted to the League Secretary. MAKE-UP TARGETS: If, for good cause, any shooter is unable to fire the targets for a match by the scheduled date, he will be permitted to fire them at a later date. Any target so fired will be plainly marked make-up by the club secretary and submitted for scoring at any time during the season. Make-up scores will apply to the individuals aggregates only, and will not be considered as part of the teams score for the match. No make-up targets will be accepted after the close of the final match. Make-up targets must be fired in full four- position sets as applies to all matches. SUBSTITUTE ENTRIES: If, after entries have been submitted and target numbers have been assigned, a competitor is unable to participated, his club secretary may, if he desires, submit a substitute name with full information, provided this can be accomplished before the closing date of Match #3. AWARDS: Team awards as provided by NRA. Other individual awards and class awards will be determined by the League Secretary on the basis of available funds and with consideration of number of entrants in the various classes.
