Asymmet!

cal Neck Cozy - designed by Miryha Runnerstrom of Blarney Yarn I enjoy having a little something to protect my neck from the elements, but a full-sized scarf isnt always the best solution because of its bulk and/or weight. I designed the asymmetrical neck cozy as a solution to my scarf dilemma. It is lightweight, easy to tuck away in your purse or pocket, and best of all, it isnt bulky under a tted jacket. Yarn:

Any yarn that you like. This is a great project to use up a spare skein of yarn
in your stash. I used one skein (2.0 oz., 130 yards) of our kettle dyed, light
worsted weight thick-n-thin yarn in Periwinkle. US size 8 (5.0 mm) 18.5 stitches over 4 inches in pattern stitch. If you use another yarn, substitute your own gauge and adjust the pattern accordingly. One button. I used a 3/4 handmade wood button, but really any button that
compliments the yarn can be used. Finished piece measures 7 1/4 wide by 18 1/4 long. Use this size as a

guideline, but feel free to adjust the pattern to t.

Pattern:
CO 34
Work in double seed stitch as follows:
Row 1: *k2, p2, repeat from * to last 2 sts, k2, turn
Row 2: *p2, k2, repeat from * to last 2 sts, p2, turn
Row 3: *p2, k2, repeat from * to last 2 sts, p2, turn
Row 4: *k2, p2, repeat from * to last 2 sts, k2, turn Repeat these 4 rows until piece measures 17 from CO edge. On next row, work in pattern to last 6 sts. BO 2 sts for buttonhole, work remaining 4 sts in pattern. On the following row, work 4 sts in pattern, turn work, cast on 2 sts using cable cast-on, turn work, work remaining sts in pattern. You are now nished working the buttonhole, and can continue working in pattern until piece measures 18 1/4 from CO edge. Bind off. Sew button in the center of the piece about 1 from the CO edge. Weave in ends. Block, if desired.
