In the anti-icing valve, a AN500D4-4 Screw (No. 4-40 x l/4 inch) retains the seat to the poppet. Although the sc:rew is staked at assembly, loose screws were found at routine maintenance and overhaul. To assure satisfactory operation of the anti-icing valve, a special inspection of the poppet seat retaining screw is recommended within the next 100 flight hours.

ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS: I. Inspect the anti-icing valve as follows:

Disconnect the linkage from the valve control arm. Clip the lockwire and remove the poppet guide (10, Figure I), poppet (13) and seat (11) assembly, and lever (9) as an assembly from valve body (15). Do not disassemble for inspection. Check the poppet seat screw (12, Figure 1) for looseness by backing out with finger pressure. If found loose, retighten and restake screw (ding threads) through witness hole. Reinstall lever, poppet and poppet guide assembly to valve body. Tighten coupling nut to 65 - 75 lb. in. and lockwire. Check run the valve per the respective 250 Operation and Maintenance Manual.
