The eleventh SIC OT Diploma Examination will take place in Hyderabad, India, in October 2013 and will consist of a written part and an oral part. The written part will be comprised of 100 multiple choice questions based on the Hyperguide and will last two hours. The subjects questioned will be in the following categories: General Orthopaedics Trauma Paediatrics Pathology Sports Medicine Hand Basic Sciences The oral part, also lasting two hours, will be held the day after. Each candidate will be examined by two examiners in each of the four major subjects: Adult Orthopaedics and Pathology (30 minutes) Trauma (30 minutes) Paediatrics and Hand (30 minutes) Basic Sciences (30 minutes) Eligibility requirements The SIC OT Diploma Examination is aimed at young orthopaedic surgeons in training. To be eligible, candidates must: register online; provide their CV; provide a letter from their Head of Department specifying that they have had 4 years of medical practice since obtaining their medical degree and that they are actively engaged in an orthopaedic training programme; be members of SICOT or in the process of applying for membership at the time of registration and their 2013 membership dues must be paid. The number of places available is limited to 36. C andidates who were on the waiting list for the Dubai exam must reapply for the Hyderabad exam. IMPORTANT: A candidate is only considered eligible once he/she has registered online and the SIC OT Head Office has received (at exam@sicot.org) before 28 February 2013 his/her C V, Head of Department's letter, SIC OT membership application form (unless already a SIC OT member) and full payment of the 2013 membership fee. Only the 36 selected candidates will be asked to pay the registration fee at a later date. The registration fee for the exam does NOT include registration for the Hyderabad C onference. Cancellation policy C ancellations received from 1 June 2013 to 15 June 2013 will secure a refund of 70% of the total amount paid. C ancellations received from 16 June 2013 to 30 June 2013 will secure a refund of 50% of the total amount paid. No refund will be made under any circumstances for cancellations received on or after 1 July 2013. This includes cancellations made due to visa refusal.
