Executive Summary
The Bhavishya Bharat is a not for profit organization which aims at promoting integrated and inclusive development by establishing and implementing social, economic and environmental development projects in areas witnessing the high infrastructure development. Vision of the Bhavishya Bharat is to improve the quality of life of communities impacted by infrastructural development; thereby enabling them to be self reliant and the process promote progress, peace and development. It has been working in the States of Sikkim, Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. The report covers Youth Training Programme organised by Bhavishya Bharat as part of the local area development plan of the ECEPL, 2640 MW Super Thermal Power Project, Bhavanapadu in Santhabomali Mondal of Srikakulam District of Andhra Pradesh. Basic purpose of the training programme was to enable local unemployed youth for selection in Armed Forces, Para Military Forces and Police. A sixty days rigorous residential training was imparted to the youth selected from thirty two villages, screened on the basis of their physical attributes, health and educational qualification as laid down in the recruitment policy for selection in Armed Forces. The training program was formally started on October 25 and concluded on December 26, 2012. In total thirty two candidates participated in the training program and twenty five of them completed the course successfully. It is quality of the training and sincere efforts of the trainers with active support of ECEPL team and hard work of the participating youth that made it a desired success. Eight of these trainees were selected in the Army Selection Rally held in Kakinada and five passed the physical fitness test conducted at Srikakulam for the selection of the Central Excise Constables.

The training programme provided opportunities to local youth for careers in Armed Forces, Paramilitary Forces and Police. The two months structured training program was organized at the Youth Training Center [YTC] established by ECEPL at Laxmipur Village. It is 58 KM from Srikakulam and 364 km from Hyderabad. The local youths were informed prior to the programme through distribution of pamphlets and village meetings. Though many youths applied for participation in the programme but amongst them only the selected ones could get this unique opportunity. Future of our society largely depends on the strength, vitality and spirit of the youth they form the way for a bright and peaceful tomorrow.

Located at Laxmipuram village and contains facilities for indoor, outdoor training and residential area for trainees and staff. The centre could train a total of sixty candidates in two batches.
Classroom The spacious classroom holds thirty writing tables, desks, white board with board markers and is equipped with all types of other required training aids for the comfort learning of the trainees. The training curriculum is multi-intelligence based with experiential teaching method. The curriculum is entirely original and has been conceived and created in-house with the expertise of retirees and in consultation with education professionals. Subjects are taught in the local language with a combination of role-playing, demonstration and trainees are encouraged to participate actively throughout the training. Cafeteria The centre is equipped with a cafeteria, where trainees are served healthy meals free of cost. The cafeteria is capable of feeding fifty persons at a time. It is attached with a dining hall.

Process
The two teams selected thirty two candidates for the training programme and out of thirty two candidates, twenty five completed the training successfully.
Training Process
Inauguration All the trainees were welcomed to the training hall on 25 October 2012 in a ceremonial approach in the presence of; Mr Shyam Siva Rao, Project Director Mr Buchi Babu, General Manager Mr Gangadhar, General Manager Mr Ramesh, General Manager Mr AVVP Raju, Deputy General Manager and Mr Chandra Sekhar, Senior Manager. During this event the trainees were given brief introduction about the area and the training programme. As per the standard code of conducts all the trainees had hair-cuts and in the evening they were provided uniforms. Daily Class Routine

Training Curriculum
Practical Knowledge Yoga, meditation, PT and outdoor games; BPET [Battlefield Physical Efficiency Tests] including 2 miles run with obstacles, vertical rope climbing, pull ups and obstacle crossing tests; Various types of team building activities.
Yoga Classes
Theoretical Knowledge As per the training module and course design basic required knowledge was imparted on arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, logarithms, history, geography, current affairs, general knowledge, and information sharing on functions of Defence Forces. Essay writing, English writing, reading and speaking, storytelling, extempore speech, singing, dancing and mimicry were covered for confidence building and personality development. Regular tests were conducted for the assessment of the progress. Motivation, career guidance and personality development tips were the regular part of course. Adequate rest and recreation was ensured which help students to focus on achieving required standard. During Physical Training a vehicle was always made available at the training institution for immediate hospitalization in case of injury.

General Discipline
Certain codes of conducts were prescribed to ensure general discipline among the trainees. It was important to be aware of the expectations & fear of the trainees to find out the learning objectives and blocks in learning. Practical Performance Unacceptable: Becomes emotional, is panic-stricken, can't function, holds back, and loses temper or displays cowardice or over reacts. Acceptable: Maintains calm and self-control in most situations, determines proper course of action and takes it. Quickly restores control in the situation and takes command. General Appearance Unacceptable: Overweight, dirty shoes or wrinkled uniform. Uniform fits poorly or is improperly worn. Hair in need of grooming and/or in violation of prescribed regulations. Acceptable: Uniform neat, clean. Uniform fits and is worn properly. Hair is within regulations, shoes are properly cleaned. Instructors: Uniform neat, clean, and tailored, shoes are highly shined. Other Equipment maintained in excellent condition.
