Michelle Dsa 1 Proposal: QIAA has undergone drastic changes since its creation 25 years ago.

Therefore Michelle intends to bring back past QIAA traditions such as the Queens Model UN conference. QIAA has expanded significantly this past year to which members, staff, and executive have found it difficult to keep up. Therefore Michelle proposes an additional job requirement for both the Vice President of Internal Affairs and Operations which is Human Resources and Membership Care. This job requirement necessitates the Vice Presidents to mediate QIAA related conflicts that hinder QIAAs overall professional goals. Since QIAA is a student run organization that is by students and for students, the job requirement of Membership Care will allow both Vice Presidents to listen and engage with members and possibly implement projects that QIAA members desire. Human Resources and Membership Care is vital for QIAA to run efficiently in the future and intends to ensure the happiness of its current members and staff. It is important to note that Human Recourses and Membership Care is an aspect that QIAA has overlooked during its transition to its current structure. Michelle believes that QIAA thrives when staff members bond. Bonding during a social and casual setting unifies a team and encourages them to put their heart, soul, and effort into QIAA. Thus Michelle intends to create more opportunities where QIAA staff members are able to bond with not only their portfolio team but with QIAA as a whole. Examples of team building socials may include laser tag, paint ball, dinners, movie screenings, etc. Brief Introduction: Since 2011, Michelle D'sa was involved in the Model UN Program as the Sponsorship Director. This position called for time management, creativity, communication, and work ethic. This position allowed Michelle to gain fundamental external and internal contacts and funding for QIAA and the Model UN Program. The structure of Model UN Program during 2011 gave Michelle the opportunity to participate in all aspects of the program such as being a delegate, fundraising, marketing, socials, training sessions, networking, and helping with the logistics of in house and external conferences. The Model UN Program enabled Michelle to participate in external conferences such as Cornell International Affairs Conference (CIAC) in Ithaca, the McGill Model UN in Montreal (McMUN), and Harvards World Model UN; hosted by the University of British Colombia in Vancouver. In addition, Michelle was the head delegate for McMUN during 2011. By the 2012 school year, Michelle became inspired to continue with sponsorship and was eventually hired as the Sponsorship Executive for QIAA as a whole. Her love of Model UN permitted her to attend CIAC for the second time. In addition during the fall semester, Michelle was apart of logistics of crisis staff for the Queens Foreign Policy Conference. Currently as a Sponsorship Executive, Michelle seeks philanthropic donations from internal and external organizations and corporations.
