Action Assignment

Question: What is the most important idea you have learned in part two?

Part two consist of the importance of vision, motive to lead and organizational climate. The essential components of leadership have remained more or less constant: Intelligence, insight, instinct, vision, communication, discipline, courage, constancy. The most important function of a leader is to develop a clear, compelling vision and to secure commitment to that ideal. Vision necessary for giving a right direction and aligning the followers. The main idea in this part is focusing on the vision and its effectiveness that lead to the organizational success 1. It must be developed by leader 2. It must be shared and supported by follower 3. It must be comprehensive and detailed 4. It must be uplifting and inspiring Everyone has special motive, or ambition in life, and it depends upon the values promoted by ones culture and on personal traits and experiences. So each person must know what is expected and the rewards that will accrue when the vision is achieved. Vision of the leaders must be in harmony with the nature and needs of the people. The leaders vision should appeal to a common good and be believed passionately. Leaders create clear and worthy images that motivates the organization, and then create a climate so that ideas are transformed into deeds. The development of a vision may take longer time than people expect. Any sincere effort to put words into action will lend credibility and will reinforce the actual attainment of the vision.

Question: How can you apply what you have learned? What will you do, with whom, where, when, and most important, why?

Everything that is learned from the books and such material will further help in the practical field to gain experience where leadership skills are required to be succeeded. What: Thinking, Seeing, Feeling, Listening, Speaking, Fitness, Learning. With Whom: Vision is thing which required some motivation or opportunity so in our daily routine we take so many decisions alone to do or to change. Usually subordinates and team members are those whom I would appreciate to lead. Where: It is based upon the opportunity and possibility to change the structure or living pattern or molding it to some extent, while influencing the decision of others. When: Leadership might be started from our routine life settings, where we live and react to different situations by making decisions. Everything comes after a certain knowledge, practice and most importantly the experience. So after having certain experience in practical field, then I would surely take part in leadership activities as well. Why: To create a challenging environment and bringing the change. To be differentiated from the world and creating different workplace. Training is very important aspect to recall the key principles learned before.
