Today, several members of the UCC community will sign their names in the Book of the Elect (the Rite of Enrollment). Others will accept the Call to Continuing Conversion, and all will be sent (the Rite of Sending) for presentation to Bishop Joe, who will officially proclaim them to be God's chosen people (the Rite of Election). Please pray for all those who are becoming Catholic this Easter!
To save a name baked goods fundraiser Feb. 17
The women of Mu Epsilon Theta Catholic Sorority will be offering delicious baked goods after all masses on Sunday, February 17th ro raise the remaining cost for a lawyer to obtain our legal name and tax-exempt status of Mu Epsilon Theta. Without these rights we could lose our beloved name, so come check out our homemade treats! We have both sweets and non-sweets for those who gave up sweets for Lent.

Everyone is invited to pick up a special Lenten box and keep it at home in a place where you will see it every day. Put some coins or spare change in every day during Lent and pray for missions worldwide. Return your boxes filled with coins on Easter. All the proceeds will help missionaries from our diocese working in other countries. Thank you!

Generally, all Catholics 1859 years of age are obliged to fast on Good Friday. In addition, Catholics aged 14 years and older must abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, and all Fridays during Lent. Fasting is only having one full meal. Some food is permitted at the other usual meal times as long as they do not equal another full meal. Abstinence forbids the use of meat, but not eggs, milk products, seasonings and condiments made from animal fat, or products made from meat juices, such as gravies or broths.
