THOUGHTS FROM BRAD

There are many things to look forward to this Spring. On March 19th, our Mens Fraternity will travel to Polaris to shop at the recently opened Cabelas outdoor store. Although this trip has been planned for our group, all men are welcome to join us for a night of fun. We will get a quick bite to eat while in Columbus and then go to the store. If you have never shopped there, they have all sorts of equipment for fishing and hunting. There are many trophy deer, elk, bear, etc throughout the store. We will leave the church by 5:00 P.M. On March 21, we will leave the church at 5:00 PM for the annual Men & Boys bean dinner at the Heath Church of Christ. On March 24, all those who worship with us will be given a goody bag to give to a friend and invite them to a Resurrection Sunday worship service. On March 31, we will celebrate our Risen Lord on Resurrection Sunday. Be sure to join us for the 8 AM breakfast. Its always a great time of fellowship. I am especially excited about our future move this Spring to the fellowship hall for our Contemporary service. In the near future you will begin to see some physical changes to the building in preparation of this transition. To find out how you might help, see Brad or Scott.

BITS FROM BRO. DAVE

HOPPERS CONCERT: I have tickets, on hand, for the Hoppers concert on Saturday, March 23. This, concert, also, includes The Guardians and The McCrary Family. This gospel concert is being presented at Ohio Christian University in Circleville. A sign-up sheet is posted. Tickets are $15 per person. Due to our cash commitment, I will need your payment when you sign up. Our departure time is 6:15 pm.
SUNDAY EVENINGS IN THE SANCTUARY: Our current series on Friends of Paul is continuing. This week, March 10, we are examining Titus, The Troubleshooter. On March 17 it will be James, Our Lords Brother. If you are not involved in a small group, on Sunday evenings, I encourage you to join us. Communion is available for those who desire. Once again, I remind that we now have activities for children each Sunday evening.

WEDNESDAYS: Unfavorable weather forced the cancellation of classes on March 6. However, we will resume, at 10:00 am and 6:30 pm, on March 13 and plan to complete our current study on Ephesians. SENIOR SAINTS IN THE SMOKIES: Its time to think and plan for this grand event! It is held on the Johnson University campus, in Knoxville, TN. Some of us have been participating for over 20 years. We will be attending May 27-31. It is a great week of inspiration and relaxation for seniors. (I call it summer camp for seniors.) If you have questions or would like registration information, see me!
Sunday, March 31st Sunrise Service, 7am Breakfast, 8am Sunday School, 9:15am Morning Worship, 10:30am Evening Worship, 6pm

During the next few weeks, we will showcase chairs we plan to purchase for our fellowship hall. These chairs will be utilized for our second worship service, fellowship dinners, class parties, and various celebrations that take place in that meeting area. Please have a seat in the main lobby and take one out for a test drive. We are asking individuals or families to consider purchasing a chair(s) so we can all sit more comfortably. We want to raise enough through donations to purchase 100 chairs. The chairs sell for $30. Please pray about helping with this need.

Last week, I was reminded just how important prayer is. Sometimes I find myself trying to do everything on my own! When I am very stressed about something (or many things) it is easy to stop praying and start trying to fix everything on my own. I was (figuratively) slapped in the face last week because I was trying to do it all on my own! I was reminded that I need to talk to my God! I need to trust in His plan and stop trying to make plans on my own. I know Im not the only one that struggles with this, so I wanted to share this struggle. Let God help you through your struggles! Lean on Him in your time of need. Philippians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. Hannah

I will give thanks to you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds. 2 I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing the praises of your name, O Most High We are often challenged to live with an attitude of gratitude, but do we take time to consider the worship and outreach implications of the attitude we carry through life? Are we a thankful people who are eager to praise God for the blessings He has poured out over our lives? Do we share with others the greatness of our God? What kind of ambassador am I for Jesus? When I leave a room, are people glad that I was there or are they happy to see me go? Are we a positive influence or a source of negativity? How can we better demonstrate the love of God and the joy of our salvation to a world that is in need of both? Lord, remind us of what you have saved us from and what you have saved us for. Let us exalt your name among the nations!

Core Values...
Values central to the life, mission and vision of Fifth Avenue Church of Christ are:

Sermon Notes ________________________

Christ-Centered Worship
We make it a priority every Sunday to celebrate Jesus through our music. (Romans 11:36-12:1-2). We focus on Jesus through grace-based preaching and teaching & understand the Bible is our authority (2 Timothy 3:16).

Church Health and Biblical Balance

Church health becomes reality when God's people seek harmony & live consistently. We expect every member to protect the unity of Christ's Church. (Romans 12:16; 1 Peter 3:8)

Global Evangelism
We are constant to our founding call to worldwide evangelism, proclaiming to all that Jesus Christ is the Savior, Healer, and Soon-Coming King (Acts 20:27).

Fellowship and Ministry

After people begin their journey with Jesus, we will equip them to find a ministry based upon their strengths. We want everyone to serve in some capacity. (1 Corinthians 12:12-27) We also want His church to be the living evidence of His love and power to the world.

How Can I Respond Today?

At FACC we look to the Bible for guidance on all issues. We believe that Gods Word is clear concerning what a person must do to become a Christian. Trust that Jesus can bring you to salvation. Turn (repent) from the sin in your life. Confess your desire to make Jesus the Lord of your life. Be baptized (immersed) in water for the forgiveness of sins and to receive the Holy Spirit into your life. To make this life decision for Christ, we ask that you come forward during our commitment song at the conclusion of the Sunday message. Baptized believers are welcome to become members at FACC by coming forward on Sunday morning or by seeing our Senior Minister to discuss this further. We ask that you complete a series of Curious classes to help you better understand what you are committing to as a member.

Discipleship
We do not want you to "get religion" here at Fifth Avenue Church of Christ in Lancaster. We are all about teaching you that Jesus seeks a daily relationship with Him through a life of obedience. In other words, we want to see the things you are taught actually change your lifestyle & your daily decisions.

Social Conscience
We place high value on the sanctity of human life, of Biblical marriage and morality, and we welcome ethnic diversity (Isaiah 56:7; Philippians 2:15-16).
