As part of location scouting, we needed to find somewhere that reflects elegance and the meaning of the song.

These pictures are ideas that I had for when the brother or singer is singing next to the terminally ill man out of a large window overlooking beautiful scenery or an elegant neighborhood. This would suit the song because it would connote the sadness within the song and the feelings felt by the brother.

Ideally we would want a white room, as this suggests a hospital room and sorrow. This links back to the song because of the feelings and emotion evoked. We would ideally like a drip next to the bed attached to the 'ill' brother to show his deteriorating health. The size of the room is insignificant because the song is powerful enough to take the audience attention away from the surroundings.

This is a shot of the river at Redbrige recreation ground. This is an ideal location for my product because it reflects a lot of genre conventions and it has the open and organic space that could be reflecting the happy relationship between the brothers. It allows me to create some reference between a lot of folk videos like Show of Hands Country Life

An idea for the location on the right is for the actor/singer to be walking down the dirt track singing. This refers back to the folk genre conventions that I feel need to be used for this song. The open and happy feelings evoked when in such an open space is an aspect I feel needs to be represented in the narrative story to reflect the strong bond between the brothers.

In this scene we would have the actor walking down this country These are two examples their guitar path playing/carrying of places, locally where we could film. They the singing the song. We could have represent the open and organic still actor fall and lay on the corn nature to where I live and the singing. perfect, idyllic nature to this place. . They all link to a lot of genre conventions that I could create references to and to link to other videos I have looked at. This picture shows the hay bales that are stereotypically located in fields, which happen to be a folk genre convention. A lot of them have fallen over due to being weathered; this would allow the These lay over them perfect actor to three images arecomfortably examples of a shot we would like to and easily if this is where I choose encompass into our video. time of year. As I will be creating the video during winter the grass will be an idyllic vibrant green that would create an amazing contrast between the happiness given off by the beautiful green to the depressing and sad nature of the song. The narrative could be reference to the contrast between the location and the song. The actor could be running through the field to connote and evoke the sadness emotions within the song.

These locations are also ideal and perfect as they reflect where folk began. It began in the wild. It's a natural style of music that has been played in fields, mountains and festivals for years! Fields like these have been used in music videos before but mainly in folk. This I because of traditional and natural sounds created by the organic As you can see the colour of the sky instruments. beautiful blue and the contrast is a with the vibrancy of the harvested corn. This would add enormously to our production, because it could represent the contrasting nature of the location and the emotions within the song. In this scene we would have the male/female actor walking across the field playing the guitar. You can see in this picture but there are hay bales at the very back of the field and we could have to actor walking towards it and sitting on them. This could be reference to the ending of an era or the end of a life.

I had the idea that a camera could go along the side of my house and rise up on a large stick and have it enter through either of the top windows. It would enter into a white out area with the ill brother on a bed with his brother next to him. This section of filming would be the opening scene. Reason for this being it is a very emotional part of the song and the content of the film reflects the words in the song.

This photo reflects the area, which will be transformed into the area which will be where the ill brother will be lying. It is also where I will hang white sheets to co-ordain of an area. Within that area I will have a small bed, padded out with sheets, quilts and pillows. I will place a small chair next to the bed for the 'brother ' to sit on and hold the 'ill' brothers hand while crying. The small-enclosed area will be an indicator to the sadness and the enclosed emotions that are evoked by the song.

This is the window the camera will enter from the outside. The only hard part of this scene I think will be getting the camera safely through the window with no jolts or shakes while filming. If this whole scene works, it will be a perfect example and reflect the lyrics perfectly.
