Third Sunday of Lent

Living Faith in March: Luke 13:1-9 Remove the sandals from your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground. (Exodus 3:5) Do we recognize that all that God has given us is holy? Do we compartmentalize our lives and welcome God into some areas and shut the door on God in other areas? Where in your life do you need to open the door to recognize that God is welcome in every part of your life and make every part of your life holy?

(Insert Graphic 2404-0062.tif) Coffee and Donuts will be served today Sunday, March 3 in the school cafeteria. Stop on over following Mass and enjoy a treat before heading home to your busy day. 324 Holy Hours were kept with Our Lord in Eucharistic Adoration last week. "Love cannot triumph unless it becomes the one passion of our life. Without such passion we may produce isolated acts of love; but our life is not really won over or consecrated to an ideal. Until we have a passionate love for our Lord in the Most Blessed Sacrament we shall accomplish nothing." (Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta) Do you have a passionate love for Jesus? If so, please consider making a holy hour on a regular basis, start by contacting Judy Soltis at 330-212-0926. It is not too late to attend Fr. Robert Barrons SEVEN DEADLY SINS, SEVEN LIVELY VIRTUES on Tuesdays from 7-8:30 pm in the school cafeteria. Remaining sessions are March 12 and 19. Each session stands on its own.

EXAMINATION OF CONSCIENCE: Have I been cold to another or turned away when someone needed me? Have I remained stubborn like a rock when I should have compromised? When have I been too hard on someone who failed to meet my expectations? When have I let darkness put out the light of Christ in my life? What are some of the rough edges in my life that keep me from being the best I can be? What are some of the things I need to unload before I can be free of the heaviness in my heart? How have I built walls between myself and God? What do I need to do to change my heart of stone into a heart of flesh?

RCIA SCRUTINIES: For those who are making their final preparations for initiation, Lent is a time of purification and enlightenment. During this rite, the celebrant and congregation pray for them. These rites are for self-searching and repentance and have a spiritual purpose. They are meant to help all of us uncover and then heal all that is weak or sinful in our hearts, to bring out and strengthen all that is upright, strong and good in us. In the Scrutinies, we ask God to deliver the elect from the power of sin, to protect them against temptation, and to give them strength in Christ who is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Please pray for our catechumens: Meghan and Michael Fair (RCIC), Jackie Knorr, and Kim Mullett.
DONT FORGET ST. AUGUSTINE LENTEN MISSION: Eucharist: Our Greatest Treasure will be held Sunday-Tuesday, March 3-5, in the Church. The mission itself begins at 7:00 pm, but will be preceded by a light supper served from 6:00-6:30 pm in the school cafeteria, courtesy of the Holy Hour Program. Fr. Mike Woosts topic is The Whole of Him in the Whole of Us: Eucharist, THE Holy Communion. Join in both the Year of Faith and the 50th Anniversary of Perpetual Adoration Celebration by attending. Invite someone you know who desires to grow in his/her love for the Eucharist or who has misunderstandings, questions, etc. Sundays presentation will take place in the context of a Liturgy of the Word; Monday includes Mass and Benediction; Tuesday also includes Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. 40 Days of Life runs February 13 through March 24, 2013.
