ver the years DAS offshore has diversified into various fields and presently serves sectors such as upstream/downstream hydrocarbon, water supply, infrastructure, Non-destructive Testing (NDT) and heat treatments etc. The core service area however continues to be upstream. Ashok Khade, Director Marketing, DAS Offshore who hails from Sangli district, Maharashtra says that in the last 15 years the company have achieved dynamic growth from being a small fabrication contractor to a dynamic stronghold group of companies with the annual turnover having multiplied by twenty folds. The company is continually working towards listing the company for public issue by the year 2012.

n 1987 the three brothers Datta, Ashok and Suresh started a small fabrication company, which came to be known as DAS Offshore. The company is registered as a private limited firm in the year 1992, and by 1995, DAS Offshore became a force to be reckoned with. After 18 years of experience, today DAS offshore is ISO - 9001: 2008 (QMS) and OHSAS 18001: 2007 (HSE) certified company and also having approved for fabrication of Pressure Vessels with R stamp & U stamp with ASME/ API codes.

Ashok Khade, Director Marketing of DAS Offshore is a Mechanical Engineer who worked in Mazagon Docks Ltd. from 1975 to 1992. He was deputed to West Germany to get training in Fabrication & Construction of submarine project in the Quality Control Department on a 5 years bond. The milestone for him is that DAS Offshore completed a Neelam 9 jacket fabrication at Nhava yard of 1200 tonnes steel fabrication in 3 months and 10 days, which is an exemplary work. DAS Offshore specialises in structural and piping fabrication, modification, erection and revamping at offshore platforms Major Clients of DAS Offshore are Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) and British Gas Exploration & Production India Limited (BGEPIL) in association with EPC contractors such as HHI- Korea, Iranian Offshore Engg Construction (IOEC), Iran, SARKU Malaysia, SHAPADU- Malaysia, Leighton-Australia, L&T, Mazagaon Dock Ltd. (MDL), BHEL, BPCL, Essar Offshore Subsea Ltd., Mumbai (EOSSL), and NAFTOGAZ and many other Contractors. Leighton Australia is presently executing a project called Pipeline Replacing Project - 2 (PRP - 2) for modification and upgradation of pipeline at offshore platforms with DAS Offshore. Leighton Australia is consortium partner with the company which is about USD 741 million. DAS offshore has been awarded a contract by Essar Offshore Subsea Ltd. for Pre-fabrication & Hook-up works at Neelam & Heera offshore fields (NHRC) having contract value exceeding ` 70 Crores. Another project which DAS Offshore is handling is SARKU- Malaysia on which Ashok Khade says Now we are executing 26 platform modifications with them now.

Dependence on external facilities affects the work schedule and has financial implications. Congestion of port forces vessels to wait for two to three weeks for berthing. Ashok Khade is conferred with Udyog Ratna Award by the Honorable Chief Minister of Maharashtra in February 2011. Ashok Khade said that the Company is progressing fast towards the desired achievements and growth towards listing of DAS Offshore Limited for public issue. We are aiming that by the next 5 years the company will be listed in the Mumbai Stock Exchange with the Capital Asset of ` 1000 Crores.
