Dominican,Grenadian,Guyanan,Haitian,Jamaican,SantaLucian,Trinidadian,andTobagonian Europeancommunities:Croatian,Czech,French,Irish,Italian,Lithuanian,Polish,Portuguese, Hungarian,Slovak,Slovenian,Ukrainian MayanBrazilian TheChurchhasdevelopeditsoutreachtothosewhoseworkandlifestylenecessitatefrequent travelthatpreventsregularparticipationinalocalparishcommunity.Diocesanpriests,menand womenreligious,andlayleadersareinvolvedinnational,diocesanandparisheffortstoprovide pastoraloutreachtosuchdiversegroupsasairportworkersandtravelers,seaportworkersand cruiseshipemployeesandtravelers,racecarcircuitworkers,migrantfarmworkers,circusand carnivalworkers,andgypsies.32 CatholicLegalImmigrationNetwork,Inc.(CLINIC) In1988,theUnitedStatesConferenceofCatholicBishops(USCCB)establishedCLINICasa legallydistinct501(c)(3)organizationtosupportarapidlygrowingnetworkofcommunitybased immigrationprograms.CLINICsnetworkoriginallycomprised17programs.CLINICandits memberagenciesrepresentlowincomeimmigrantswithoutreferencetotheirrace,religion, gender,ethnicgroup,orotherdistinguishingcharacteristics.33 Thenetworkincludes201diocesanandotheraffiliatedimmigrationprogramswith290field officesin47states. Thenetworkemploysroughly1,200BoardofImmigrationAppealsaccreditedrepresentatives andattorneyswho,inturn,serve600,000lowincomeimmigrantseachyear.35 CLINICrepresentsmorethan250diocesesandreligiouscommunitiesthatbringforeignborn priests,sisters,seminariansandreligiouslaypersonstotheUnitedStateseachyear. In2010,whenCLINIClauncheditsNationalProBonoProjectforChildren,morethan800 childrenwerereferredtoCLINICformatchingwithprobonoattorneys.37 CLINICsprogramshavehelpedmorethan100,000peopleapplyforcitizenshiphelped approximately12,000refugeesandasyleesapplyforgreencardsandhaveprovided immigrantswithover15,000hoursofEnglishlanguageinstruction.
